Why the assumption it would be Chicago on Thanksgiving?
Heavily rumored.
This year is on CBS.
Meaning usually a AFC team.
Options are NYJ (bad) TEN (Developing) NEP (Have you seen the news) not great options.
So the other option is divisional. Traditionally Packers or Bears. Since it was packers last year its likely Bears
This isn’t a thing anymore. It may very well be an AFC team, but being on CBS has nothing to do with it.
Any rumors on to when the schedule is going to be released (other than last couple years was 2 or 3 weeks after draft), but haven’t seen anything concrete. I need to plan my Germany/European vacation.
Rumored and traditional schedule release is projected either Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday (5/12-5/14) but it had been hit or miss last few years.
looking back, since 1984 Lions Thanksgiving on CBS 19x.
MIN 2x, GBP 2x, CHI 5x, AFC 10x.
With back to back years only happening 2x. MIN 16/17 CHI 18/19
So it could be GBP. Back to back. i just dont see it being any of the 3 AFC teams.
I could see it being the Jets. Dip into the NY market, plus the AG returns to Detroit narrative.
Lions vs Patriots on thanksgiving would be sweet
I was thinking that. IF NYJ were doing well. They arnt. 0 INTs. Hes on the hot seat to be fired.
So narrative only goes so far.
Bears has the narrative, traditional matchup, 20 total matchups vs Bears, 23 vs Packers.
Also not seeing many games worthy of Primetime or the game of the week.
Between the 4pm Game of the week, prime time, international, and standalone games.
Theres enough where each team gets 3 games.
Both CHI & GBP games are worth prime time. But if one of them is Thanksgiving and the other likely last week of the year.
Thats 2 games. Aside from that, Buffalo and Tampa? MAYBE NEP but with the news lately, unlikely.
So 4 games aside from Thanksgiving and Germany could get national attention. Every other game SCREAMS 1pm regular game. Arizona will likely be 4pm but regional only not the game of the week
I personally hope the Lions get “Less” primetime or off Sunday games. I would be completely fine if every game was a 1:00pm Sunday game other than Thanksgiving. Sunday afternoon or Sunday Night games are OK as well as they don’t mess with the players recovery times like the shortened weeks do from Monday and Thursday games.
I don’t like games that start after 7:30pm Eastern. Too hard to stay up that late.
I remember the last time they came to town on TDay. Only good thing about it would be the Pats throwback
Lions vs Patriots on thanksgiving would be sweet
Football, Turkey, and Dianna Russini. The perfect Thanksgiving.
I know I shouldn’t judge another’s misfortunes because I’m not perfect, but goodness, the Dianna Russini and Vrabel thing is quite the shit show. Their initial cover up looks really, really bad now.
I will definitely be going to the Arizona Game, then 1 more either in Detroit or Atlanta.
