I think we are in trouble here—or at least vulnerable.
We have had success last year against some teams with strong run games. Giants are a team to come to mind. I am not as worried actually.
to me , It’s always like The Football Gods are pissing on our heads–we never seem to catch a break or rip off a larger series of wins or reach the playoffs or even a single bowl.–it’s ALWAYS something man !
Personally I think Atlanta stacks up well to us and we have injuries at key places.
How the team responds will be a true measuring stick.
Don’t forget the Up/Down theory!!
I think many will be nervous facing a 2-0 team after the Seattle loss
It’s always good to get 2 wins out the gate BUT they barely got by the Packers
Both games were at home
Time for them to screw up!
Up/Down theory …
Also, I believe that DC will have the team amped up for this one — in a big way
They should okay their best game of the season
Gibbs gets his first 50+ yard play!!
Our defense ranks dead last in tackling. Bijan led the league I think in college in broken tackles. Dude is going to run for like 300 yards on us
I think these cats are going to show up in a fighting mood. Our record will be the same as the Falcons when they leave town.
We can’t expect to play a last place schedule every year and be considered a playoff contender.
They will find a way to win.
Glover Quin said it could be Seattle just has our number. They beat us the last five times we played them, but last week iit was at least a game. But that game is history. I expect our first home win of the season. It will be a tight game, but these guys haven’t forgotten how to play and how to win just because of one loss.
Well I don’t know if they forgot or not but that Dline other then Hutch has forgot how to play or something because they haven’t showed up yet.
why are we so damn bad at tackling !?
This is the key to the game. It’s ripe for a picking.
Hence, why I quit berting…
We are last in tackling but holding teams to only 3.6 yards per carry, which is good for 10th in the nfl. Those 2 stats don’t really add up. Unless it’s us missing tackles on passing plays, that could be it. The run defense has been solid.
I would completely stack the box, and make Ridder beat us with his arm. If you can’t stop Ridder from beating you with his arm, then you don’t deserve to win. We actually did that well last year vs the Giants. Stopped Barkley and Daniel Jones kept throwing INT’s without a run game. That’s the recipe to beat the Falcons IMO
We have Derrick Barnes though. Part of me thinks it will see a lot more of Jack Campbell and Barnes on the field at the same time at linebacker this coming game.
Not worried about the run game too much, although Bijan is fantastic.
I am worried about a mobile QB.
3 linebacker sets are a good idea in this game, especially on early downs. Make the inexperienced QB beat you.
Does AG know how to set us up for that scheme-wise?
It does seem like the scheme on both sides of the ball looks alot like the beginning of last year’s 1-6, as opposed to the 9-1 run they went on when they changed things up and settled in.
3 lb sets… since barnes and Campbell are both exclusively playing the mike this season it might be difficult to play them both at the same time much.
Also am i the only one who remembers the last time we faced Ritter? It was preseason but he looked like mahomes…
True, but the preseason means almost nothing. Tom Kennedy and Tim Boyle types dominate preseason football
