They have massive drop offs in focus and intensity. We could cut that down. Toughness is something they are capable of, but not a huge part of their identity. Anchor that shit to who they are and what they do. Own it and BE it.
Would be a massive change in them. What would happen if they had āsecond half of game 6ā intensity all game every game, instead of just in spots?

To jump in on this, look at his playoff stats compared to Drummond and youād be surprised at the results. If youāre paying Duren max money, youāre paying him to be something he isnāt right now and thatās pretty scary because if he doesnāt improve significantly in a few key areas youāre dealing with an anchor of a contract. He was better in the 4th quarter last night but still far from what a max contract player should bring.

Duren is a mile away from this list in terms of production and helping a team win basketball games.
We had 8 playoff games and Duren has played terribly in 5 or 6 of them. Good in one and good in one quarter of another.
And its not just production. Watch him. He has almost no urgency. He goes up soft as Charmin.
Drummond was getting 20 rebounds in the playoffs.
Also - this team can not shoot and other teams shoot poorly against us, There are WAY more rebounds to be had in our games. Still, getting 10 in 30 minutes is an achievement for him.

In all seriousness, Duren so far in the playoffs has disappointed but to me it is much more the energy and defensive effort i have a problem with. He can improve those and it was much better in the regular season, but am i willing to make a $50M bet that he figures it outā¦ good thing i dont have to right now cause i would probably prefer the sign and trade if i had to make the call on what we have seen so far.
