John freaking Ameche and his square shoulders and clunky.ass game
Heās good.
He isnt my 1st choice
Not my 1st choice, but wouldnāt be bad
On the last year oof his rookie contract, we actually could re-sign him if need be, solid 3 point shooter and defensive piece
Would not hate it, but that depends on how much we like Ivey
Probably my 4th option. Murphy is my number one
The price tag seemed very reasonable compared to others on the block. In part that is why I asked.
I still like Ivey and feel he will be a good NBA player. I like Jenkins a ton also and feel like that makes Ivey expendable for us.
Murphy is mine too, but seems like the Pelicans are not selling so not much else we can do about it
So where would Mathurin fit into the lineup? Is he coming off the bench? Whose minutes would he be taking? Heās averaging 32 minutes game in Indiana and Ivey is averaging like 17 minutes per game. Would Ausar be pushed to the bench to accommodate minutes for Mathurin?
Starter.
He would like to push Duncan Robinson to the bench. But we would be even more solid defensively.
This
Is he putting up good numbers on a terrible, awful team? Or is he good?
If Ivey had 35 mpg on the Pacers would he be better than that? Maybe?
Ivey can still get better and is way cheaper for a while. Again, I donāt really watch the Pacers other than when they play the Pistons.
The Orlando Woolridge effect.
I donāt think heās any better than a healthy Ivey.
Agree. That guy is getting bigger minutes and shots with Halliburton down all year, that he wont get here.
Not a great shooter, uses size to get fouls and get his shot off. This is a trade machine/look I did something/sideways at best move.
Also, he just hurt his thumb.
Just play Ivey more., save the pick.
Also doesnāt solve frontcourt scoring issue, #2 scorer issueā¦
Pass.
The trade is from effing Bleacher report, so you know itās shit.

Donāt bother. Doesnāt move the needle.
Freep: 3 trades that would elevate Pistons with a second high-level scorer
==
Brooklyn Nets send: Michael Porter Jr.
Pistons send: Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert, 2027 1st (protected 1-10), two 2nd-round picks
Porter 2025-26 stats: 25.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 49% overall, 39.7% from 3 (9.4 per game)
===
Utah Jazz send: Lauri Markkanen, Georges Niang
Pistons send: Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey, 2026 1st (unprotected), 2028 1st (unprotected), 2030 1st (protected 1-4), two 2nd-round picks
Markkanen 2025-26 stats: 27.9 points, 7 rebounds, 48.3% overall, 36.5% from 3 (8 attempts per game)
This is the proverbial ābig splashā trade that pundits have hypothetically tied the Pistons to. Markkanen, 28, has emerged as one of the leagueās best power forwards in Utah, averaging 23.8 points while shooting 37.8% from 3 over his 3½ seasons there.
The Jazz have maintained a high asking price for him, and it would likely take significant draft capital to entice them into a deal. Sending three first-round picks and Ivey would signal extreme confidence that Markkanen, 7 feet 1 from Finland, would elevate the Pistons.
It would also be a significant financial commitment ā Markkanen is in his first season of a four-year, $195.9 million contract that expires in 2029. With Cunningham in the first year of his $269 million maximum extension, the Pistons would have their top two scorers under contract together for a potential multi-year contending window. They also would have a tougher time retaining their young players such as Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson and Ron Holland, who are all due for extension negotiations within the next three years

Pistons send: Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert
