Detroit Red Wings

Huge game for the Red Wings tonight. They’ve looked different with the new staff in a good way. Just beat the #4 team in the NHL the other night, Edmonton Oilers in an OT shootout. Have yet to look good two games in a row on the road, tonight is a find out kind of night

Would be nice if it was starting earlier than 10pm…
the NHL needs to think about the eastern time zone a little more… rather than having a game in “primetime” for fans in Western Canada. :man_facepalming:

I think we’re 3 points out of a WC spot. Never would have predicted this. Feels like the 24 Tigers.

I mean, I don’t know, the Wings missed the final spot by what, a point last season? I think the expectation was that they make the playoffs this year. But they have gone on quite the run since firing Fester and replacing him with an actual coach - albeit a lot earlier in their season than the Tigers turned it on.

Now they’re sitting 1 point out of the last WC spot, 3 points from #3 in their division, and only 8 points out from #1 in the division. The Atlantic is pretty tight right now.

Right. Definitely expected more at the start of the season. When I said never expected it, I was talking about their status before they changed coaches. They were closer than worst in the league than the playoffs, it seemed.

Just like that they’ve won 3 in a row on the road. Who could have seen this coming two months ago. It’s been fun to follow

Holy!
A four game sweep out west. Taped every game - I love some 3-on-3 OT hockey!
Seven game winning streak.
15-4 since coaching change.
Nice long rest.
This is sweeeeeet!

Its all Monty Williams fault. He must have rubbed off on him.
