I just watched the segment, and your take is extremely close to what happened. The main thing to understand is when they all go with the same team it tends to be a jinx and that team loses. So that is part of the background story. Apparently this is not a show where they slowly pick each team and hear the other person’s picks. They make their pick in private and then they get to see everyone else’s picks live on TV.
Mina on the far right said “OMG I thought I would be the only one making that pick.”
Ryan Clark said “no…no…no way. Are you telling me we don’t have time to change the picks?”
Laura said “for all of the people that are going to screenshot this. Just know that the Lions are the Lions.”
