I am not sure which morning show it is that I am watching now (Saturday on NFL Network). Its 3 panel members. 2 out of 3 picked the Rams. This is the best thing we could have hoped for!
It’s not just the fans and the city trying to figure out how to adjust to being winners. It’s the team too. They’re not used to hearing about how pretty they are.
Orlovsky would sooner take a cheese grater to his own chode rather than pick against Stafford.
I do think the last two games against a Mullens lead Minny and the Dallas game where opposing WR’s were running free and our secondary was the proverbial hallway in which hotdogs get thrown, has skewed alot of people’s picks for this game. Stafford is better than Mullens and Dak, and Kupp and Nacua are arguably just as good a tandem as any in the league.
I don’t think I’ve ever inhabited this emotional space with the Lions before. I’m calm and not at all nervous about the magnitude of this game for the franchise. So much will be divined from the results of this game, Lions vindication if they win and the Footprint of Fate if they don’t. To be clear, I definitely want and expect a win, though I think it’s pretty much like a favorable coin flip at poker between a small pair and AK. Some might say I’m protecting myself from hurt and disappointment if they lose, but at the moment I think it will feel like an abrupt end to a really good book.
I can pretty much guarantee I’ll scream at the TV a few times though…
