Dexter Lawrence dealt to Bengals

The bengals basically swapped Trey for Dex, because they didn’t want to pay Trey - instead paying Dex, plus gave up 10th overall to make this all happen.

Really, really stupid franchise. Terrible move.

What Lions would you not trade for 10 straight up?

Hutch
Goff
Saint
Penei

Are my only hell no’s.

Add Jamo, Gibbs, and Jack to that list for me.

So how does this affect the Lions draft? I think maybe the Giants take an OT? At least a chance to fill RT.

I don’t think the chances are any higher of the Giants going OT than it would have been for Cincy. Maybe a shade lower because NY really needs WRs and CBs too, whereas Cincy really didn’t. At least not the former.

I don’t really agree that the Giants have a pressing need at WR or CB (corner is a need, don’t get me wrong). I also don’t think Harbaugh views the WR position as being a vital one. I do think they take both positions in the draft, but not with either pick 5 or 10. They have a massive DL need now. They had it before losing Dexter so now it’s their biggest…but no one in this draft is worth a top 10 pick imo.

I’m thinking they go Downs @5 and then they can go BPA at 10. I don’t see that being a WR but it could be Delane I guess. I think he goes before pick 10 though.

Who would you think is BPA at 10? I currently have it as Styles, Mauigoa, and Fano. Who’s your BPA available there and who would you take?

I would bet good money (and already have) that they go one of Tate, Tyson, Lemon, Delane or McCoy at 10.

Extends him another year, so hes on now a 3 year 70 million dollar contract

I might give up saint but it would have to be a beast of a player at a critical position of need.

In THIS draft I would include Gibbs, Jack and Jamo as well, hell maybe Alim. And that’s especially true of the 10th pick in this draft.

I think Giants walk away with 2 of these 3

Downs, Styles, Delane.
:locked:

i bet they go Tate at 5, Bain at 10.

I think the WR could be at 5, for sure, but everything you read is Tyson is apple of their eye.

any one of those guys (tate, tyson and lemon) would pair very well with Nabors, I just would give the edge to tate. that would be a nasty 1-2. but i do think they take their pick of receivrs first.

I have always had Tyson as my top WR in the class personally, but I understand the injury concerns and why others would have Tate (also a very good player) higher. That said, all of their beat writers and insider types think it’s Tyson all the way, at least if they pull the trigger at 5 (apparently the Saints and Chiefs both love Tyson too).

Alright I’ll go with Tyson then! I don’t personally love it but I don’t love any of their options there honestly. I do like Styles but I’m leaning towards a Cowboys trade up for him.

I think Styles and Downs are both in play for one of their picks, but if they go with the WR first it probably won’t happen. What’s certain to be there at 10 is one of Tyson, Tate or Lemon though, and likely Delane and/or McCoy. I don’t think signing Newsome stops them from going CB early, the guy got benched in Jacksonville last year. I think he’s a hopeful punt.

Yeah I certainly wasn’t thinking Newsome was a sure fire answer. I have them drafting Downs @5 with the idea he plays significantly in the slot. With Newsome on the outside I see that as an adequate starting group who needs competition/depth rather than a major starting hole. I also think Delane is a perfect BPA/fit for the Saints making him unavailable. The McCoy news has me letting him slide a bit so I don’t love him at 10 anymore.

He’s a Saint pick 8
