My RBs going into today in a 10 man league wers Stevenson and Robinson, so I felt the need to upgrade at the RB position. Funny enough, I had actually tried offering the one guy the Kelce for Jacobs/Njoku deal earlier and he never entertained it. I wanted to pick up Gesicki off of the transaction trends before someone else snatched him, because if I had another TE I thought I could play, then I could deal Kelce for a solid RB without having a black hole at TE.
So basically, I needed to clear a roster spot. I didn’t want to cut newly acquired Carson Steele (which I ended up having to do out of panic), and I also didn’t want to give up on the value that Charbonnet and Pierce could have in a trade given how they’ve started the season.
I shopped different combinations of Mostert, Pierce, and Charbonnet all around the league for two days before finally landing on the deals I made.
The Ferguson trade really just popped up out of nowhere, and by that point I had kind of accepted that I wasn’t going to get a ton for Pierce.
But the Keenan Allen trade was originally designed to clear a roster spot.
I’m assuming that’s organic chemistry and not Organ grinding? Great job. Never had to take it but I heard it’s pretty difficult. I have two daughters who are RNs and one is now a cRNA and they both said that was a tough class with a lot of memorization required. What is your major?
I am holding Mostert. I believe Achane isn’t going to be able to hold up with the usage they have been giving him and he will have the span of a couple of games where he ends up as the lead back. I also believe once everything shakes out and both are healthy again, you see Achane and Mostert looking a lot like Gibbs and Monty. I am hoping Mostert spells bye week fill in and occasional flex based on matchups.
Of course I am using him as my RB4 so if I am wrong, I am insulated.
Chemistry right now, but I’m thinking about switching it to Biology so I don’t have to do as much math. It’ll only end up being a difference of 3 or 4 classes over two and a half years.
If you’re a little undecided about what career you want to end up in, but you think it might be something in Medical, man a cRNA (nurse anesthetist) degree is the shit. I won’t get into too much detail but if you 1099 as a side gig to your regular hospital job, you can easily make $300 - $400k per year. It’s a pretty grueling curriculum and there’s some hurdles along the way and it’s very competitive to be accepted into the program, but the payoff is huge. Good luck with whatever you decide.
I wouldn’t swap Bates for Koo at this time. But you might want to look at who else is out there. I am using Bates right now, but Kickers are weird this year. Normally I think 8 pts / game is ok for the position. But this year I am cursed because the opposition is getting over 20 points / game against me this year. Lucky I am 1-1.
I think White is about to lose his job to Irving personally. He’s been terrible on the ground, averaging like 2 YPC. Against us it makes sense, but the Commies?
I was asking around the league to see who was available…and I started working on a deal with one guy that involved Jamo, Ferguson, and either Swift or Ford for Stefon Diggs and Kyle Pitts.
Well, last night, I met up with him and talked about it some more. He…out of nowhere…asked me if I’d be willing to swap out Diggs in that deal for Ja’Marr Chase. I, of course, said yes. He then wanted me to take out the TE swap, so I was ok with that if I could get Chase.
So we’re currently looking at Jamo and Swift/Ford/Braelon Allen for Ja’Marr Chase.
And, I offered another guy Ford and Allen for Kenneth Walker and Christian Kirk (who I feel is a good buy low candidate for players already on my bench).
Thoughts on those deals?
(P.S. I think I’m going to have to wait until after today for the Chase trade. If Jamo has another good game I think there’s a much better chance he takes it.)
That Chase trade to me is a no-brainer, even if it means giving up on Jamo during his breakout year. The Bengals always start slow (I wouldn’t have done the trade if it was Diggs instead).
