I feel like this was Ben trying to be smarter than everyone else.
3 receptions for 43 yards

So far, yes. We will know more definitively by years 2 & 3
TE in the first round is always dicey. Just not a premium position. Loveland was special at Michigan for sure. That was real. And let’s not forget Caleb kind of blows.
I was shocked by the pick when it happened. I thought the Bears could of made better use of that high pick.
I think Loveland is very talented. I just didn’t like the pick on the Bears end.
Tyler Warren looking great
No. He’s going to be a stud. He’s hurt and they aren’t utilizing him like, at all. Was a stupid pick only because they have Cole Kmet that they seemingly like.
Everything the Bears have done is to make Caleb not a bust. From Ben, to drafting WRs and TEs, the o-line, they’ve hit everything but RB really.
see I view TE’s as extra WR’s and they (TE’s) do help the team-look how many times we got the football to LaPorta or Brock Wright…they bailed Goff out more than a handful of times bro.
I’m sure there are a lot of fans of other teams wondering if the Lions reached for Teslaa. 2 catches.
Brock Wright was not a 1st rounder. Even Laporta was a 2nd rounder.
Good player if he can stay healthy, not a good pick.
Fans of this team (me) think we reached for Teslaa.
I thought it was a strange pick given they already had kmet. I’ll bet Loveland would be on the same track as laporta if he’d gone to the chargers.
I think these 2 guys are pretty spot on when it comes to Loveland. They were saying the back end of the first round, I could possibly see that but I’m a Michigan fan and never did I think he was an amazing Tight End… but I never thought Hock was either.
I thought Loveland was a 2nd -3rd round talent. Never did i think he’d be a top 10 pick…

This was a horrendous pick. There are so few examples of a first round tight end being worth the pick. Especially when great TEs constantly come from all over the draft. The bears offensive line is terrible and they already had a good tight end. Just an awful pick..even if Loveland is a good player. Would never have had the impact of a good lineman on either side of the ball
no , @socko mentioned that TE isn’t a premium position-while I agree , I also mentioned that both Wright and LaPorta helped anyway, besides not being quote premium positions-I also metion how I see TE’s as extra WR’s and that’s all.
I had the Jags taking Warren prior to there trade up. Well that’s what I would’ve done anyway

I am just not a fan of picking TE or WR in the first round. It to me a luxury pick.
Once you have the Oline and DLine secured and a QB then and only then do you deviate to a TE
Despite two first names. Impressive. High degree of difficulty.
The Loveland pick didn’t make much sense, and I loved to see it. Chicago needed more help on the OL. Rather than do the smart thing and build trenches, instead they went after another skill position to “get help for Caleb”. Well, Caleb doesn’t throw to the TE much, and now he has 2 TE’s he regularly ignores while the OT’s continue to get beat. They finally got their other rookie RT in who looked solid for one game. LT is still a major issue for them.
