Guys breathe… B-Rad is in full villain mode in early March!
They did right by Monty, as in sending him to a starter role and we got a great return imo.
As of 2 hours ago, we a guy who played pretty poorly, was pretty hobbled and turning 34 soon at C…. As of this morning we had a 29 yr old RB2 that clearly wanted out (albeit like a true pro and gentlemen) and we got a nice haul…
we have SOOO much cap room in 2028- and this anyone we sign this year, we can allocate very little in year one against the cap…
juice Scruggs was better in 23’ and 24’ at C than GG was last year. Brad liked him coming out. Here is where we are going into 2026
GAINED
JUICE-
4th-
7MM cap space (we have to pay Juice and the rookie)
LOST
Dmo
Glasgow
I bet we can get a veteran RB, and a C like McGovern and manipulate the contracts so that the cap hits in 26’ are $7M or less.. Allgeier?
McGovern- 3 years 36M
Allgeier- 2 years 13M
I think Juice gives us interior depth and maybe a cheap re-sign, but starting experience. McGovern gives us a much better C than we had last year. Allgeier could easily be a 650-700 yard RB2 on 175 carries.
Then we restructure Goff and Sewell and get a veteran DE, sign Lopez, bring back Maddox and Ya Sin… maybe a decent vet CB…. Draft Edge, OT, LB, S
I would like to see them cut Decker and get aggressive with a solid FA C/OT/DE
IMO Decker is done and the Lions should be aggressive and not wait for him to implode and ruin next season. Sorry but since you should not be planning on him being around due to injury and age why not actually do something rather than just pray he stays healthy
I’m going to go ahead and trust that the Lions know Decker’s condition better than you or I. It’s not as easy as just going out and getting a new LT and who’s to say that guy wouldn’t get hurt?
Continuity along the line is important and if the Lions didn’t want him back they’d have told him before he announced he was coming back. I have to believe we’ll draft his replacement this year….
Well I guess I’ll just put this here as I hate to start threads:
In going through this list, there is A LOT to like! I feel like this year the draft is weak post top 15 and FA is exceptionally strong. There are a lot of older guys, but who are still very good players at all of our positions of need. Add in potential trade market and IMO we should be looking at that very strongly. I know BH is a build through the draft guy, but this year I hope he changes his stripes a bit and fills holes with guys who know what they are doing from snap one.
