Asking for my fantasy team.
I hope we’re able to get him the ball more consistently next season. He doesn’t need to be some target hog to have a big impact, but I feel like we can try to avoid the shutout games that he’s had in his career.

I would hope so, but it’s a pretty tight needle to thread. I think the best case is for his efficiency to go up, which is certainly in the range of outcomes. He doesn’t need 10 targets per game to put up big numbers with his skill set, though of course it would be easier. We also have evidence of Petzing’s willingness to throw it a ton, Brissett was dropping back 50 times per game at the end of the year last season. Of course that was horrible circumstances (bad defense, always losing, injuries depleting the run game), and all things being equal Petzing seems to want to run it a lot more than that.
I think he will see an uptick. For fantasy purposes he’ll still be in that high week to week variance bucket à la DeSean Jackson back in the day. Best not to stack too many of those guys.
He’ll be more consistently involved, but sure seems like that’ll be true of everybody from what we’ve heard about Petzing’s tendencies, doesn’t it?
Sam is back and we hear about the OC’s love of heavy-TE sets.
We also hear that he likes a strong, established run game and that Jah figures to be featured in the run and pass games.
Hard to imagine ARSB not being the chain-mover; they’ll want TeSlaa to get more action than last year if he can handle it; and the tea leaves suggest that Dortch should more offensive touches than KR did last year.
AND Jamo is looking better and they’ll want to take a few more deep shots, which wasn’t really Ben’s thing (skipping over last year).
So, apparently, EVERYONE on offense, including Jamo, is getting the ball more this year than last.
The two big factors in how it’ll actually play out: 1) Do you think our O will sustain more drives, meaning more plays and more opportunities, generally? 2) Will our D force more punts and TOs, handing the O more chances?
Jamo will definitely be more involved. He will also be top 3 in average yardage gained per catch
The answer is no, no he will not be…
I’m trying to drive down his draft stock HSV, what are you doing. Next thing you know a reporter will be writing about how well hes going to do this season & then we’ll have to draft him high ![]()
He’ll be a top 12 fantasy wr. I think he’ll get more targets and it seems like he improved his catching/contested catching. I see us passing more due to not wanting to put a lot of wear and tear on gibbs (i really wish we could trade for algier, cards already have enough backs.
Yes, he will. He’s hounding Petzing to draw up a pass play for him. He’s jealous of Tom Kennedy passing stats.
Ummmm do you not remember Jamo’s playoff pass? I still have nightmares about it.

He’s got 1500 yard potential… I’m buying Jamo this season
Several of us have been calling for Jamo slants for years. Thank goodness we might finally use it. Hit him in stride and game over
@Phunnypharm you will be happy

I think so. Seems like he’s having a great off season and if our line improves like we hope it will, there will be time for longer plays to develop which should help him get open
.
Have them look at last seasons stats and tell them all accounts say he’s even better.
He’s the best #2 in football. He’d be a solid #1 on at least 29 NFL teams.
He is not getting a 50% increase in targets from last season
And there is almost zero chance he gets more than 120 targets unless ARSB and/or LaPorta get injured.
The numbers just do not support this idea.
People on here want ARSB to get same number of looks, LaPorta to get back to his best season stats, have Gibbs get more catches, Jamo to get 50% increase in targets, and finally Tesla needs to show improvement and way more catches….
I mean even if this team is a juggernaut I am not sure what it would look like for all of this to happen. Maybe 50-60 points per game?!?!
I actually hope he stays about the same and the offense puts up better running stats this season than last year for sure.
It seems like there is a finite number of Jamo / LaPorta targets. It seems like while both have been on the team if LaPorta is injured Jamo gets more or if Jamo is injured LaPorta gets more but those two seem to be competing for the same targets.
If the OC wants to feature both more than maybe TeSlaa’s not great camp means that the targets will still mostly be split amongst ARSB, LaPorta and Jamo (as well as Gibbs) and TeSlaa and the other WRs will still be fighting for the scraps.
In 2025 JAMO averaged 6 targets a game, 102 targets with 65 catches for 1100 yards for the season. IIR some games he seemed like a forgotten receiver for a few games, other games he looked like he was right behind ARSB for targets.
A little balance, like 7-9 targets a game should put him on pace for nearly 1,400 yards.
It’s on Jared to balance the targets and keep the opposition off balance. Play to stop the run, stop ARSB AND JAMO, the LaPorta and Gibbs pass game becomes unstoppable.
How’s that for our #2 receiver?
Just in case the opponent decides to play to stop ARSB, JAMO and LaPorta, watch Gibbs highlight reels.
This offense is going to be a juggernaut!!
Jamo is the type of player who will not be happy and cry foul if he’s not heavily involved. They will need to feed him the ball to keep him happy.
With that said there’s only so many balls to go around and Petzing loves to use his TE’s. Laporta should have an uptick in catches as a result.
Gibbs is supposed to be used more in the passing game and Petzing loves to draw up the short yardage stuff so I believe this will happen.
TeSlaa is expected to be more involved too. So who’s giving up the catches?
The Lions were 5th last year in completions per game with 23. The NFL leading team was 25. I expect them to be better offensively this year than last but Goff has never averaged more than 24 a game. So how many more balls can we realistically expect to be available for Jamo?
Point being is I do not think he will have many more catches than he did last year unless there’s injuries to our other starting receivers.
So can he be more efficient?
Well he’s averaged 17 yrds per catch the last two seasons. He was second best in the league at yards per catch last year. That’s pretty damn good and I doubt he can improve on that much.
My conclusion:
I think he finishes the season with 1000+ yards. Between 63-70 catches. So I’m expecting a similar season to last. Maybe slightly improved or slightly worse. His only chance at doing better than that is if ARSB misses significant time with injury.
With all this in mind I think ARSB’s catches decline a little this year.
I for one have been wanting to see way more slants, choice, and post routes. Tired of trying to do the outside shoulder fades with a guy that historically struggles with tracking the ball.
Have watched too many times where he gets the ball out in space and absolutely torches the defense, yet we want to do the equivalent of an arm punt to a guy that struggles tracking the ball.
