The WNBA does not exist without the funding of the NBA…comparing what happened with the NBA and projecting the WNBA could be on a similar trajectory honestly is just nuts. If you are a basketball fan the product is just awful. And now they are going to add more teams??? Yeah…goodluck.

The list of extremely profitable enterprises that lost money for a decade plus is long.

Also, look at soaring franchise valuations. There is a cash flow element and an equity element. Those when an equity stake in the franchises and I assume some entities drafting off of WNBA growth have done very well.
I really don’t get why people get so worked up over this. More people of more types having more avenues of personal and professional development seems like a great thing. I don’t happen to watch the product but I do root on the success of it.

I’m doing the insensitive folks in this thread a solid by being even more insensitive.
It will need to. They’ve ruined two perfectly excellent doctors with bloated storylines/casts and the disease of trying to please everyone (inherently impossible). They lost the deft human touch that made much of the post-Whedon TV world so enjoyable (Whedon’s Buffy famously inspired RTD’s version of new Who). Of late, only Ted Lasso has been able to strike the right balance, and I haven’t watched it in a while, so maybe they lost the sauce as well.
I also really don’t like the Timeless Child retcon. I found the Doctor a much more relatable character when he was simply another time lord in the wrong place at the wrong time (or right place at the right time, depending on your POV) forced to make a tough call, looking for his ‘companionship’ in a species who looked the most like him. This whole progenitor angle… why do they all have to turn out to be ‘special’ in some way? He was already special.

I cover (mostly) high school sports for a living. And I’ll say that girls games are often a lot more interesting than boys. It’s more honest, whereas boys are often just a lot of uber-macho peacocking.

The WNBA signed a 3.1 billion dollar media rights deal a few months ago and we have people saying no one watches it and someone saying they don’t generate revenue.
