Dolphins, Ramsey agree to explore trade

.

Will be due $21 million in cash for 2025….
with a ~ $6.75 million cap hit for a new team.

Will turn 31yo by mid-season….
and then due another $21 million in cash in 2026…
with a $25 million cap charge if kept on roster.
.

.

Looks like a possible salary cap cut to be honest….

His low cap number this year will entice a few teams I think… Keep an eye on GB and Minnesota

Yeah, he would be a perfect fit for the vikings but they don’t have much draft capital to trade. Maybe start trading all next years picks.

Very true, but I doubt he goes for more than a 5th

I hope they don’t get a deal done….

The tough thing is that $19 million of the $21 million due in 2025 is an option bonus…

so a team trading for him gets a manageable $6.75 million in 2025…. but then a dead cap hit of $14.25 million in 2026

if they don’t want to pay him another $21 million in new cash for 2026. And… we know Ramsey isn’t going to volunteer for a team friendly pay cut.

I could go for a 5th right now, thinking Jameson. It’s cigar thirty for me.

The Dolphins have allegedly spoken to the Rams, Falcons, Commanders and Eagles as well as the Lions about Ramsey.

I joked about it the other day in the cb at 28 thread but my god if we did and got a de in round 2 plus bring back zadarius… idk it would be interesting at least

Also if we are in conversations it cant be a high price considering our current cb depth right?

Peanuts, I would suspect. Which is probably why he ends up somewhere else.

And why? Got 3 pretty good ones, plus one who we dont knw how well he be.

Eagles…lol

Because you can never have enough CBs.

Honestly I think he’d be awesome as the hybrid nickel/will/safety type at this juncture of his career. Too high of a salary for that role though.

But but we dont have money to sign players, but we do trade for them

He would be restructured for much less than his current contract. Which is another reason it probably won’t happen.
