Draft talk 2025/2026

Can never get these things to post from the sim site.
Just a no idea who some of these guys are or even if it’s a good, decent, average, poor or massive fail on my part…

  1. O Ioane IOL
    -50 Dillon Thieneman S
    -118 Beau Stephens IOL
    -155 Nadame Tucker Edge
    -186 Marlin Klein TE
    -203 Trey Zuhn OT
    -212 Diego Pavia QB
    -222 Logan Fano Edge

I don’t think there’s any way Freeling makes it that far. Honestly I think he’s more likely to go top 10. I think Miller will go higher too, but probably not as high as Freeling. He doesn’t have quite they mystery box quality Freeling brings. But I could see him going around 20-onward.

I think there is a good chance both Freeling and Hunter could be gone before our pick at 17 in the 1st round. I think Freeling would be a good choice and would be even better if we have Decker for at least the first half of the season.

Freeling is my current top choice for us, but I’m worried like many of my other top choices I’ll have to give up on him the further we go through the process. He just feels like someone who will go high, especially in this class.

I am not as impressed with Mauigoa as a lot are. He appears to be a finished prospect and what you see is what you get. I guess that raises his floor. I know he gets high grades for his run blocking but I don’t see him finding his targets at the 2nd level that make a run game work. he seems fine when his target is the guy lined up directly in front of him but if he has to move to go get his target like a DE lined up wide he looks pretty average. I see the same in pass protection where the speed lined up wide gives him problems. I guess knowing exactly what your getting does have to count for something.

I am 50/50 on whether he is a T or G, but I have also said I think he could be an all-star guard (though it might take a predominantly gap scheme). That said, average T > good G, so he’ll get his chance to try and fail there first. I had Fuaga and Darnell Wright in similar buckets, guys who might be able to stick at T but would be great guards, but both have held out at T.

As i was reading about Freeling it seemed to good to be true at 31. Any idea which mock draft simulator has more realistic rankings?

Honestly watching more and more of T.J Parker…. I really think Clemson is just a shell of themselves as a program, cause hes lighting up the Senior Bowl alot rn…

Honestly makes me second guess Peter woods too, but woods seemed like he gave up as soon as the season started

IDK, i like Parker alot, but question is if he fits us? Feels like he fits more on a 3-4 front then 4-3, but he can work on it

Not super explosive, but hes got the arm length and power to truly be a Crush the Cane kinda DE that we like.

Wouldnt be shocked if we do have a visit with him

They’re all a little slow on the uptake. He WAS in the 70s, so the ones that have him in the 30s now are the ones that have done recent updates. But they’re not trying to predict where they end up, just where the tea leaves say they are now. It took a long time and a lot of mocks from respected draft guys to get Membou into the top 15 last year for instance. Pretty sure it didn’t happen until the combine. I expect a similar time-frame with Freeling.

In those mocks when guys I don’t believe will be there are available, I just skip them. Makes it a little disingenuous since those guys having already been picked would have pushed someone else down the board, but you work with what you’ve got.

Honestly it’s why I prefer to make all the picks myself, but then I’m a sicko.

He will 100% be of interest to us. We’re at the very tippy-top of his range imo, but our FO doesn’t care about that. If they like him, they’ll take him.

The question he’ll have to answer for us was why was he so, so bad to start the season? Mailing it in like Woods before hearing about it and picking up his play? If so, what will our FO think of that. Doesn’t seem like the sort of thing we’d like.

A Good question indeed

(It really is Nic Scourton all over again huh, and its funny cause those two are also similar build aswell)

Also Jacob Rodriquez… if we didnt already have Jack, id think id be banging the table for him like crazy

Think he can play WILL but hes on the smaller side

Yeah he’s fun, but I think he’s a MIKE all the way. Same with Aiden Fisher, who I also really like.

I think Trotter might be able to survive at WILL, but he’d be better off in the middle as well. I also think he’s gonna rise and rise throughout the process. Doubt he makes it to our 2nd rounder.

I still really love Kyle Louis at WILL. Yes he’s small, but because of it he’s cheap (and I actually thought 6’0, 225 were really good numbers for him). Playmaker extraordinaire though, and brings a lot of the speed we’re lacking.

I guess it depends on where your drafting Rodriguez. I think he does his homework and studies film as good as any but he was the beneficiary of a great front. I see him as a day 3 pick just because I don’t see any violence or twitch in his game. In fact those are things you look for in special teams players as well.

In defense of Parker, all you hear is he’s a great kid. You really didn’t hear people waxing poetic that way about Scourton, though you never heard he was a bad kid either.

I think someone drafts him as a MIKE in the 4th or 5th round and he probably goes on to start for them for a long time. Slow MIKEs hit pretty frequently, because it’s as much about instincts as anything else (but you’re right they almost never play special teams).

Senior Bowl OL measurements:

Zuhn and Dunker with some surprising numbers. I still think Dunker is so bad in pass pro he’s got to be a guard, but at least he might be able to shift outside in a pinch.

Stephens, Lemieux and Hecht coming in pretttty short.

Edge numbers:

Really surprising from Sapp, thought he was more body beautiful than that.

FM will be fine at RT IMO. And if we get back to our prior way of playing ball we’ll protect our tackles as much as possible. And if he can be average in pass pro at RT he’s going to be an easy plus starter.

Really? I always thought he was built like a small 3T.
