#73 was the pick we gave Dallas. They drafted Cooper Beebe there LG day 1 starter,
you know for a fact he’s going to be a pro bowler

Brad got played this draft. He was no ninja that is for sure. Giving up future assets for projects. Don’t change your draft strategy overnight and then admit to it. I am a fan of the 2 6th round picks which brought value to this draft otherwise I would say this is his worst draft out of the 4 he has had.
Ha, I don’t know for a fact any of these guys will be pro bowlers (especially not 3rd rounders), but he’ll be better for Dallas than he would have been for us imo. I always thought he was more limited than many on here (and it seems the league somewhat agreed based on where he went), but he fits their scheme much better than ours.
Though a lot of Dallas fans think he’ll be their center, and if that’s true he’s gonna get squeezed out of pro bowls by Frank. And probably Landon Dickerson too.
I had Mahogany ranked comfortably above both Beebe and Zinter, though I was probably lower on both than most. Especially in here.
I doubt it.
There’s best move would be slide Tyler Smith from LG to LT
Slide Beebe LG Day 1
Keep Guyton at RT
No guaranteed money for Terrence Steele after this season.
Could the problem be with the word development?
That was a bad word 4 or more years ago. We never… never developed talent. If they succeeded it was off individual talent.
This staff has proved they can develop talent. If brad wants a project every draft he has proven he deserves it. Let brad cook. Cant make a great dish starting with finished ingredients. Got to start raw and build. So let brad cook guys! Who cares what point system this or that. Trade value this or that. Who decides who is a reach and who is not? Whos base value is being used? Mel kiper?
Sure that’s an option, but the vast majority of the Cowboys fans I know (and living in Texas I know far, far too many) want to keep Smith at LG. They think the brass does too, which is why they took a tackle instead of someone like Barton. There’s a bunch of ways it could play out, but one of those is definitely Beebe at C
Yeah but then they turned around and took a LG instead of a Center.
Let’s agree that Cowboys fans aren’t the brightest species
That they are not, but honestly that’s true of a lot of fanbases lol.
I wouldn’t read into going LG over C there. For one they may see Beebe as a center (again, a lot of people did from Zierlein to Dane, and he took reps there at whichever all star game he was at). It could also be that they simply had Beebe graded way above the natural centers at that point. In fact I don’t think another one came off the board for awhile.
Oh, and check it:
The Cowboys didn't try to keep starting center Tyler Biadasz, who followed Dan Quinn to the Commanders.
Welp, poor ol Jman stands corrected once again
You’ve got to get one wrong every once in awhile or the rest of us will start to feel too inferior.

Does trading my 2025 3rd round pick for Jerry Rice kid insead of Manu count as another foot to mouth?
It should.
I was razzing you for having Franklin go a couple rounds later…then my boy falls to round 7
I still think neither one of those makes any sense, but it might have been an example of what we mentioned a month or two ago… everyone that really needed their WR already drafted one and wanted to address different positions, pushing good WRs down the board (Malik Washington too).
I heard Brad say something like we could’ve drafted a WR but he doesn’t play special teams…
Not sure who he was referencing?
But they must’ve had Wingo & Mahogs ahead of any WR at that point obviously
By the 6th round I did too, especially once Washington went. I wasn’t as high on Rice as the rest of you and had both Wingo and Mahogany ranked in the 50s, so I was thrilled by getting them.
Franklin’s not a special-teamer, but unless he’s talking about taking him at 61 hard to see where else he would have done it. Actually don’t think Rice or Washington played much special teams either. Clearly if that was important to us on day 3 it eliminated a lot of WR from our board. A lot of them don’t play special teams.
This was the exact 5 man tier i had Rice in. Even tossed Polk in there a few times but he went a lot earlier than I thought.

This is who was drafted after we traded up Day 3
Crazy. The guy who went right after Rice is 27!
I had Franklin really high. In the same tier as Legette and McConkey.
I had Polk in a higher tier too, same as Pearsall, Coleman, AD Mitchell.
I had Walker and Baker in the same tier a little after. Malik Washington was in there too, same with McMillan and Roman Wilson.
I had Rice in the one after that one, along with Jamari Thrash, Worthy, Corley, Weaver, Gould.

I think he was speaking in general terms, that if he takes a late round WR that doesn’t play special teams then he’s very unlikely to make roster and so the pick is basically wasted.
