Ego boost OC

talking Detroit lions here from a season ticket holders perspective.
The lions this season were the media darlings for points scored, trick plays and all the young talent that has been expertly drafted. If you have been a fan like me for over 4 decades it was weird. We have never had the attention or been anything but a footnote or the butt of the weeks jokes as the same old Lions. Defense wins championships the proof is in the pudding! We had guys coming off practice squads and taco trucks to fill the depth chart this season, no way around the fact. Decimated and we won 15 games.
there are no awards for points scored, points a games won by how many trick plays are run, Its not necessary. To win is necessary, in whatever manner. And you cannot turn the ball over and win, obviously. The ego boost OC we have has to go, its not about his stock for a future coaching job its about a city a franchise and the fans wo support the Lions. The players are giving their all to fall short in his little game. With the weapons Detroit has who can stop us playing vanilla football? is there a time for a fake punt or a play that’s wild, sure. 7 yrs in a row KC has made the AFC championship, all year they won most every game by 1 score and from behind. No ego boosting trick plays. Barring our Defensive injuries i would take our overall talent over their squad. QB conversations aside…We need an OC that is a team player and lets the players shine.

Agree.

No one thought the Lions would win 15 games after Hutchinson got hurt. And, when both McNeil and Davis went down, the Lions were doomed to lose.

Welcome to the board!

I think we are going to continue to boost both lines and work outward.

As for the OC, I think we will see how much of this offense was Ben and how much was DC.

Welcome to the board.
If possible try some paragraph breaks.

Go Lions

Welcome! 40 years of season tickets is impressive, now moreso given you could flip them and fund a very nice retirement.

Well, he’s gone.

DC could be back to calling plays again. I think he enjoys that part.

That’s what we had. I believe that’s important to the Head Coach, too. They had contributions from literally every coach and player on the offense.

There’s a lot of disappointment in our season ending so abruptly and in train-wreck fashion… and the salt to that wound is Ben leaving to become a HC within our own division… but that doesn’t mean he was an ego-driven exhibitionist that didn’t put his players first.
