The 1997/98 el ninio almost maxed out lake meed. But that was the winter with record rains.
The 2015 was just above average rain. Just helped sustain.
Its hit or miss what kind and how much precipitation you get. But it just throws it completely out of wack.
For instance the 90s event caused the DC area to have virtually 0 snow all winter. The 2015 event had the most snow on record. So you never know

last year only certain places in Michigan got up to three foot , like Su Salt Marie, down here near Frankenmuth, it just snow enough to keep you shoveling, it would snow three inches and stop, you go clean that all up, it would start snowing again and look like you never lifted a finger, over and over- but the hardest we got was “maybe” up to five inches of snow.
That was back when mead was full. It’s currently at 30%. We need that rain. I hope we get it without too much damage.

97 it went from 80% to 95%+
2015 it simply stoped the drop at about 50% all year
As long as I get days of class canceled again next January, I’m good.

I’d take a low snow winter. I would be good with it. Lots of factors, but history bodes well for a low snow year. Warm December, maybe no white Christmas this year

And that glacier wall collapse in nepal. I don’t know if you’ve watched those videos but good lord it was terrifying.
I have a feeling we might see more of it. I think the only city in the US is juneau alaska, which I guess has been flooded more and more recently

there is validity to taxes going to green projects. air water and solar along with nuclear are viable power alternatives to coal and gas.
but the profit structures favor corporations so much that they have no incentive to switch from oil/coal/gas because of government subsidies and tax breaks. if those same breaks were offered for greener alternatives they would switch but corporations don’t have morals. they’d just steer the titanic into the iceberg and then get on the bankruptcy lifeboat.

We did our part.
My panel mfr is carbon neutral certified, the entire facility is powered by water.
We took a large airport project from a large US MFR as we are the only ones with the neutral certification required fully documented.
So we made the panels in Colombia South America
Put them on a freighter and sent them to London England.
They were then put in to a system in England.
Then put on another freighter and sent to NYC for LaGuardia airport.
We got the contract due to the certifiec carbon neutral paperwork we have and our factory being powered by water.
Our competitor made the system in Wisconsin but their carbon footprint was higher than ours so they lost the job.

wow that’s amazing. we really don’t utilize nature very well for power generation. waves and water are really very powerful.
id swap to solar if the solar installers in the area weren’t super shady 
south facing house i could use the sun all day.
but then I’d also have to have my electrical in the house upgraded. it’s like 50+ years old.
