I think Elliot is a huge asset stopping the run. Glad to see we are getting close to full strength.
He’s a HUGE deal in our defense
he’s massive in run support.
We need safety depth for sure, as well as CB.
Great news!
The couple weeks he’s been out prove that, and hopefully, we re-sign him.
Good!
I wouldn’t mind seeing KerJo, Elliot, Jacobs, Okudah and Iffy out there.
Iffy>>>>>Harris
Think i read this week the Lions aren’t putting Harris back at safety, he is staying at CB.
i think that’s where he does the least harm – outside corner.
What are you guys seeing in Iffy?
Just curious what you all think?
He needs rep’s, but he’s long and athletic. He still takes missteps, but he can recover fairly quickly. He takes much better angles than Harris. I think he’s a alot corner. We should maybe use him like the Cards use Simmons… slot/LB hybrid.

Sort of how Austin used to use a “heavy nickel”? He’s got the size for it, but is he a good enough tackler.
Who was Austin using at that position? It was an undersized LB’r…white guy, I think…Killibrew?
Elliot is definitely the guy holding the defense together imo. Huge to get him back.
Elliot makes that entire backfield stronger.

I can’t say I watched him closely against Chicago, but Danimal said that Iffy improved and was more aggressive than in his first start. PFF agreed, grading Ifeatu Melifonwu at 35 against Carolina followed by 82 against Chicago.
He’s been injured A LOT in his first 2 seasons. That’s a given, yet he flashed as a CB at the end of last season and did enough right last game to impress PFF’s impeccable evaluators. I hope he’s finally available for a full season in 2023. With Brad’s eye, both he and Levi could be superstars if healthy. Will they be?

Surprisingly Harris might have been the most consistent corner the Lions have had this year, shocking really. Hughes, AO, Okudah have all been benched at different points in the season. Jacobs missed several games on PUP. Harris keeps playing. He was a terrible safety, but he’s not bad at corner. Great timing for him because he’s about to hit free agency.
