ESPN NFL free agency best fits: Chase Young to Detroit?

Where in my post did I say I “Know” what Brad is doing?
Holmes has had 2 opportunities to acquire Young a declined both times.
Choosing not to trade for him from Washington and last offseason as a free agent.
Also, the Saints will be the 3rd team that has chosen not to retain Young in a little over a year.
Chase is like the hot 40 year old lady that has never been married and is single and available.
Something must not be right.

I don’t “Know” any more than you or anyone else.
I state my opinion and then give the basis for my opinion.
Chase could be at the point that he is willing to take a cheap 1yr prove it deal.
That might interest Holmes.
But I just don’t see Dan and Brad giving Chase an extended deal.

None of that would be good. Chase Young is certainly not a match for the Lions in re GRIT.

That’s because he persues tackles like a guy on the last legs of his career, not the first years.

Holmes has stayed pretty true to his vision and done what he’s said, so until he does otherwise, we have years of actions that give us definite clues.
That said, Campbell did hint in a presser quite awhile ago (a couple years) that you can have a turd or two on the team if they help on the field (a la CJGJ, although his contributions were sparse because of injuries). But I’m guessing being lazy and that kind of stuff is an absolute red flag.

I wanted him to fall to the Lions so bad in that draft. I thought he’d be at the Julius Peppers level. His rookie year he showed Peppers-like signs but I can’t tell you what happened that just made him seem disinterested in football

This is definitely why I don’t see him as a Lion, if half of what I’ve read about him is true…
