Every damn year

Kalif F_ck_ing Raymond reminds us why he has a spot on this team. At least one game a year, this guy shows up in a special way. Not every game. Sometimes you forget he exists. Then he lets us know he’s an nfl player.

Every week there’s a different hero. What a complete team. Let’s F’ing go!!!

My wife remarked earlier how bad he’s looked. I told her he’s good for at least 1 TD per year. Then bam.

I’m always surprised he’s on the cut list in people’s eyes every offseason. Or - at the very least - the “we need to find his replacement” lol

Dude’s blocking has been out of site the entire year. Stats don’t show that but for his size, he wins enough matches 1 on 1 blocking to open it up for the rest of the offense weekly to gain the confidence of DC to start him at receiver over Teslaa even if his receiving stats are not super big. Leaf is sound until proven otherwise. You could see he was primed for a long return today with early attempts. Just saying.

Guy’s been All-Pro, wut, 2 of the last 3 years.

His value really shouldn’t be questioned. Some electric returns, but, more routinely, the great hands, great decision making, and typically does make the first guy miss. Balt game wasn’t only the worst decision making we’ve seen from him, but one of the very few we’ve seen that featured even questionable decisions from Leaf.

And yet every year, he’s very much talked about as a possible cut, for a more explosive receiver. (I’m guilty of it too)

Quality players make plays when asked to. Kalif continues to show his quality. Imma nickname him Faramir.

Just curious how you could tell this? He was pretty much stonewalled on every other return —-- 5 for 76 with a long of 65.

Because he also returned kicks and he looked particularly good on one of them before he took that punt to the house! I think he was 1 for 30 on KO.

Returns are often about one man missing a block. And I think the thing w Leaf is that he is ready and willing to field that punt and take off even when he’s surrounded whereas other returners are just afraid they will field that ball securely. I personally told the person by my side he was going to break one today based on what I can say looked like “groove” to me. It happened later in the game. What can I say.

That you got lucky is all. I don’t think anyone watching that game felt Khalif Raymond was on the verge of breaking one before he did. Hopeful? Sure. Perhaps if you get that feeling again, you should wager some money. I would guess a special team score probably pays out at least +600.

Saylor average 25.5 yards on his kickoff attempts. Did you feel he was on the verge too?

Hey I’m a connoisseur of groove and what I call vibe. You don’t have to agree. Last week DMO had the hot hand and it was easy to see early on. Yet the Lions ventured away from him. I know why they do it. It’s one way of doing things. But they might have been better served if they just fed him the ball vs tried to get both guys x amount of touches based on some formula they use. They do this for a living. I don’t. Nobody cares what I or anybody else in this forum thinks.

Regarding teh Saylor returns. All I can say is that I’m pretty sure??? that until today they had Stuard and Saylor’s back their returning KOs. So I didn’t even know Leaf was back there returning today. But I saw the 30 yd KO return and I thought wow Saylors looks really fast today back there because he was one cut away from breaking a long return. I’m like that looked like Leaf. Sure enough it turned out to be Leaf. My eyes told me what I saw. I have no Leaf bias. So I said don’t be surprised if he runs one back today.

I would bet you the coaching staff may have seen the same thing. Check the player interviews this week instead of believing me because they often say these kinds of things. Whatever. Lets agree to disagree.
