I agree. It was a clear helmet to helmet on Goff.

Like I said in the GT, the officials were letting them play

yeah…

when ya look at a still frame showing Arnold made contact before the ball touched the WR….
it might look like a penalty.

OTOH………

Is there any chance that is a catchable ball???

.
Lions had the ball covered in front…
and Arnold was in his hip pocket.

I don’t like the fact that WRs get the benefit of calls when they slow down… but the CB is moving to make a play on the ball.

No matter what he wasn’t catching it…AA knocked it down. Conversation over

Yea he’s probably on another vegas bender. :joy:

all NFL teams get bit by WTF officiating. we had our fair share of penalties that were ignored to, majority of teams do at some point. so I don’t see why the Texas fans are crying…when they were destroying us and we turned the ball over 5 times and most of the game…, they act like we never had “controversial calls” .

Pretty sure the officials didn’t give us a 58 yard FG. Or 5 picks. That’s a dumb take.

So if all was equal and AA caught the ball would it still be interference? Nope it would be an int. So that he tipped it makes the play no different.

I’m sorry, did this one missed call result in the Texans giving up 19 straight points?

Pretty difficult to tell in real time, but upon review, it looked like Arnold made contact before Anzalone tipped the ball. Probably could have been called. Glad it wasn’t, good no call, thought Arnold was making a play on the ball. Now, if Arnold was looking at the ball, probably would have been called.

The contact was because the WR started to fall down IMO. I would like to see a different angle to see if their legs got tangled.

Regardless, they make their FG and maybe they win. Sorry not sorry. They also had 30 minutes of the 2nd half to score a point which would have helped their cause.

Great no call by the officials. The decision to throw the ball there was poor. There was almost no chance of a catch with Alex also there. Football is a contact support and refs should not bail out a team on a stretch call.

Like the Rams/Lions playoff game where we held Puka’s jersey (we did). But the WE still got two hands on the ball.

In this case don’t bail out a QB throwing into double coverage when the play has a low chance of success.

We have seen refs hurt the Lions with crap calls for years. The face mask call that led to a Hail Mary for the Packers in Detroit 2015. The defensive call v. our DE under Patricia in Green Bay. I could go on.

Texans fans, let this one go. You needed to score TDs and you didn’t. End of story.

All I’ve asked for is fair officiating. Not favorable calls, just not to be actively screwed over. Lawd have mercy we seem to have finally gotten there this year.

In real time this is a no call. Maybe in slow motion replay from multiple angles you can make the case for PI but officials don’t have that luxury.

In a fraction of a second the official has to assess

  • whether AA tipped the ball before Arnold made contact
  • whether Arnold was playing the man or the ball
  • whether the contact was incidental
  • whether Hutchinson was in position to make a catch

I don’t think you can determine those things even watching multiple replays. Impossible for one official to determine all of that in real time

What I take from it is the Lions have over come their margin for error being small. That happens when you win and leave very little doubt about you winning. You will get the benefit of doubt when you become that team….the Lions have become that team! :100:

I remember when we used to do this shit. So glad those days are over and we are on the other side of this stuff.

I don’t think the ref is going to call PI that often when the ball was deflected by the LB in front of him. I get the frustration as a Lions fan, but are just pissed they didn’t get a gift IMO.
