This is a pretty complicated one so I felt the need to ask the board as opposed to some analytics bot.
I have to start two RBs and two flexes from the following…
Brian Robinson vs. NYG
Rhamondre Stevenson vs. SEA
Jamo vs. TB
Malik Nabers @ WAS
Tank Dell vs. CHI
Zach Charbonnet @ NE (Kenneth Walker should be out)
Right now I’m sitting Charbonnet and Nabers, but I’m thinking about sitting Stevenson against Mike Macdonald and playing Charbonnet. I’m also thinking about sitting Tank and playing Nabers.
That is really tough. Just write the names on the underside of post-it notes and flip four over. If the positions aren’t right flip the next one over. It’s about as scientific as any other methodology and you can blame entropy rather than yourself when it blows up in your face.
It’s hard for me to leave Robinson out of the lineup with his matchup. Stevenson and Charbs are probably better options most weeks but have really tough matchups this week (that NE defense might be really legit too). He’s not gonna catch any passes, but really neither are Stevenson or Charbs. If it’s me I probably lean Robinson and Stevenson.
Conversely, Jamo and Nabers have tough matchups. Dell doesn’t (Chicago’s secondary is quite good), but the talent around him will keep the Bears from shadowing him with too much coverage. Also, CJ Stroud is awesome.
Plus, even though it’s a stupid reason, I like having someone to watch in the Sunday night game (when we’re not playing of course).
So I think I’d leave it like you have it, but be aware Nabers could really go off, he won’t have a better matchup all year (except when he plays Washington again). If you’re an underdog or chasing a game and need a guy who might go off, he’s probably the better bet, but I assume it will be roughly 50/50 when you have to make a decision.
Ok. I mean Sam still had 9/65 in the playoff game. I was leaning Jamo just bc of their CB room but I should win this week if I avoid goose eggs so hopefully he’s not just out there as a decoy. But Tavierre Thomas or whoever on Jamo does sound fun.
I actually forgot about that playoff game, was remembering the game earlier in the year where David got the best of him. Well either way, that’s the one matchup they have against our passing game that isn’t an extreme mismatch, so I’d still go Jamo.
Tee Higgins
Kalil Shukir
AD Mitchell
DJ Moore
Jamo
Tank Dell
I have a pretty good team otherwise.
Any takers on who I should start this week 3? I could drop Mitchell and pick up either Downs or Alex Peirce as FAs. I think he’ll heat up, but Peirce has me wondering if he’ll be Richardson’s go to. Downs was good last year, but who knows this year with the competition. I have Gus Edwards as the other option as a FLEX.
I have to start two of the WRs. And then either a 3rd WR from that group or Gus Edwards. I picked the wrong RB for Harbaugh…I’ve been burnt by Dobbins getting injured in the past though.
I’m thinking of picking up NYJ Allen to handcuff with Breece. I should be able to get him on the wire.
If Allen is somehow on your wire you should grab him whether you have Breece or not. Drop Mitchell’s ass, that Colts passing game is gonna be frustrating af all season.
So I just dropped Mitchell for Darnell Mooney. I picked up Kareem Hunt earlier in the week. I didn’t mention that. I will probably drop him for Allen? But I might lose the wire bid next week at 5 so…I also have Chubb on IR but thinking of dropping him for Pacheco, who the owner outright dropped, and stashing him on IR instead just because I have more faith that Pacheco’s injury is cleaner. Not sure if either of them will be relevant this year.
I think I’ll go Jamo and Tee Higgins this week for the WR slots. I’ve always liked Higgins but man does he have health problems a lot and he is just coming off injury. DJ Moore could break out but Caleb is hot and cold as a rookie. Tank is suffering from Diggs being added. I really thought Shakir would be good this year but it has been mediocre so far.
Yeah honestly I think him and Chubb both are kinda worthless at this point, but at least there’s a chance with Chubb. A distant one, and guys usually struggle coming back from that injury (including Chubb himself back in college). I’d rather have Allen over both of them.
