We have though, just by dint of guys getting healthy. We were one of the best pass-rushing teams in the league last year through 6 weeks. And if we add Z’Darius as well? That will be a big improvement.

I think people are really underselling what Williams will mean to the pass rush. Sure, he’s not going to get home often, but the guy constantly collapses pockets. He’s going to make QBs very uncomfortable in the pocket. If the NFL scored sack assists, he’ll be leading the way for the Lions in a year or two.

Oh i firmly believe he was gonna be gone by pick 40. No shot he was there in the 2nd.
Point is, in terms of front 7 guys. He was in the mix. Thats why i used an average of 15 boards. Some boards he was BPA. Others he was 20th BPA.
A few boards even had him top 20 best over all!
So those people that looked at the boards that had him mid to late 2nd are complaining.
Even J Campbell. Some boards had him top 15. Others 2nd round.
People just need to stop using some boards or mocs as the bible

For sure a fully healthy Alim in 2026 and a year 2 Williams could be special. If qb’s can’t step up in the pocket… Hutch gonna break the sack record.

I was looking at our defensive depth chart and like eight starters have a chance to make the pro bowl at least once in their careers (or already Pro Bowl). Three or four of those a chance at All Pro (or already All Pro). And the funny thing is most people think defense is our weakness.
Its insane how much talent has been drafted or otherwise acquired. Its chess/checkers but a super computer playing chess lol.
