cough cough, this draft was about stars of 2027 and depth. MAAAYBE the first round pick was a starter, but that was not a sure thing. So to the OP’s point…this is a hell of a pick. We are so beyond the Draft being the highlight of lions fandom. We are now in the place of the other elite franchises…look at steelers. Heyward has one year left…boom Harmon is in the building. Look at Ravens. They stay where they are in the draft and in 3 years walk away with the two best safties in the draft and Hamilton is an ALLPRO.
Plus, we’re so far beyond the average Madden nerd or draft commentator being in the same class as our GM that any rankings or grades on Brad’s picks mean less than zero. They’re playing checkers, Brad is doing particle physics.
If I had even an inkling that my livelihood and future may rest in the hands of a spoiled teenager, I’d be begging my agent to get me out of there ASAP.
Like the pick. Will love it if we can really address our need at DE. I don’t want Brad to reach for it but I just can’t help but notice the elephant in the room—we haven’t improved our pass rush from the edge really since 2024 draft. Maybe Barnes becomes the answer or Davenport miraculously plays close to a full season.
