Yeah I don’t get it.
I mean he got major snaps in 21, maybe he’s looking for the same scenario. Sounds like he doesn’t want competition.

I think I get it. Penisini saw his way blocked by the drafting of McNeil. Saw that it was likely his future here was practice squad player and injury fill in. By going somewhere else, he has the chance to establish himself as a roster worthy player.

Seems like a dude who genuinely was burnt out and wanted more out of life.
And after a year, and phone call from/to a mentor…he’s ready to comeback.
I don’t think there’s anything else to it than that…but I don’t know the guy personally just an assumption
