I try to give the locals a listen when I can and most are worth it…..Woodward is not. Just not a fan.
Why draft a DE when we can draft a 5th DT
and move our 100 million dollar 330lb DT to DE
Again, Brad sticking to his guns on Davenport /AQM

Nice clickbait title by Woodward.
An this right here is the biggest problem as we have discussed. Relying on a player who has constantly been hurt AND a 6th rd DE to fill that other DE spot.
I don’t like Woodward sports but you can’t really argue any points that Braylon made when it comes to FA signings by Holmes

I will be the first to say that I have been busy and checked out for most of the season, with the exception of watchin g the Lions. Seems like everyone keeps point to us not drafting a DE is what our detriment is on D, but have any of the DE drafter been lights out? And have any that were drafted around when we picked been productive?
The last rookie DE I really remember popping was Verse, but I have not heard anything really about this draft class. If anyone can educate me that would be appreciated, thanks.
I love DT’s. I think they’re the heart of any defense just in front of a traditonal MLB. Usually, I’m hoping for a DT every draft and I’d be cheesing ear to ear if they draft one. But I didn’t feel it for Tyliek. And he hasn’t been good so far. Before people get on me about this again that doesn’t mean i don’t hope he gets better and just because I’m judging his play right now doesn’t mean he can’t get better.
What bothers me is who is this DE that was avaiable? Like if there was a re-draft who would you guys pick instead of Tyleik? And don’t say “a DE” or an “edge”. Name the player.
Must be nice to get paid to tear down other peoples decision when you have no skin in the game. Last time I checked then Brad and Dan are the ones that have reputations and success on the line for their decisions. I am also sure that outside of Allen Park nobody knows the scouting reports, trade offers, on-field, off-field analysis cost vs. benefit, long term vs. short term benefit etc. etc. etc. UNTIL they do they are just air heads spouting a useless and uninformed opinion. Sadly they get paid for it.

We (the fans) have been clamouring for a DE opposite Hutch for 2 years.
Decker and Rags have been playing injured most of the time since Brad got here. I absolutely love both players and never want to see them retire. Reality is reality.
Brads cute projects, are costing us.
I love Brad Holmes! I do NOT want him fired. I want him to learn from his mistakes. Today!

This whole discussion is just hard.
I am not sure how you can predict who and when players will get injured……because that is one of the main issues we are really discussing.
And I get it. We are all smarter than Brad and KNEW who was going to get injured who was not…..it is somewhat sarcastic but it is also pretty true. And this is not a video game where you can just dial in a players ability. It is a crap shoot to some extent.

Well someone understands, just love the guys that pretend there is and was no moves for Brad to make, but the truth is Brad over valued his players, he wasn’t looking because he said over and over we like our guys. Then doubled down on that later with his were good statement. Now many are playing dumb saying well who is this player he missed lime there was no one available. Let’s just move the goal post. Lol

The one thing that was said that I agree with and made sense to me is: If you’re wrong, we’re coming for you. (paraphrasing).
What Braylon and others don’t and didn’t consider that Brad was drafting for about two years ahead.
For instance: Manu, when drafted, was to be coached and developed. So that 2-3 years later, he’d take over for Decker. Made sense at the time. But Manu didn’t develop.
Broderic Martin was drafted the same year DJ Reader came. Reader and the coaches were supposed coach and develop him. So when Reader’s contract was up: Martin could take over as NT/DT.
Paschal was already good against the run. In a few years, he was supposed to develop into a decent “crush the can” pass rusher. Injuries held him back.
Now, Tyleik was drafted to get developed and take over for Reader when Reader’s contract was up. We’ll see.
Tater was drafted to take over for Ragnow, similarly to how Rags did. He was supposed to start at G and take over C next season.
Same for Frazier.
Our CBs sucked a couple of years ago. We drafted both TA and Rakestraw to be starters. But injuries are preventing development.
Good GMs draft for the near and distant future. There were some glitches, undoubtedly, like injuries to young guys that you can’t anticipate.
Brad hasn’t been perfect. But just because we’re not as good now as we were before: It doesn’t mean that that he’s been negligent.
I interpret Braylon as saying Brad has been negligent because we’re struggling right now. Kind of a short sighted view in my opinion.

But its 100% negligent, when you come out and say we like the guys we have, we’re good , and then the season starts and our best Inside pass rusher is playing DE, why because everyone else there is that bad.

Can’t argue with you. I gave a broad view of things. And all you think about is: “We’re good”. Which Brad didn’t say. Dan did.
