Ah, for the good ole days when the roof blew off the Den every 15 minutes or so, and guys who had been the best of friends suddenly found out they were on opposite sides of an issue and became enemies.

The best remaining pass rushers seem to be:
Von Miller
Demarcus Lawrence
Azeez Ojulari
And…Za’Darius Smith
And at this point Z is the best player and fit, he is the only one with a positive grade in run and pass . Well I’m not sure a out miller. Lawrence is close his pass rush just isn’t what it used to be
Yes I know he hasn’t graded out too well so far. I just loved him so much in college. I feel like there’s a monster in there. Perhaps not, but at a cheap rate I think he’s worth a look.

I think we struck out on Josh Sweat. He was probably our first option. Now we’re hopefully going back to the drawing board and making calls to Cincinnati for Trey Hendrickson.

Could be , he is not in the best place to develop
Gotta figure the cost to acquire him has come down some. If he’d take a bit less than his current demands I could definitely see this happening.

I believe I heard Schefter say the Lions were closing in on a deal for Josh sweat at one point. It’s reassuring that he’s trying to get a top end guy in. You absolutely know that Campbell is pushing for Trey. Is there a better fit than him? My goodness gracious that combo would be completely insane.

Oh look the chiefs just found $50M in cap space. Goodie. You know what man. Just “restructure Goff and AmonRa” and go get Trey. How are teams allowed to do this? Nonsense.
Every now and then he gets his teeth. He’s actually made some pretty big moves in FA. That quick turn to sign Reed on Monday was lovely. Big move. He may surprise us yet. Bears fans are likely puffy chested today because their GM is trying to save his job and went wild. This roster isn’t at that point. We are a dependable good edge away from being a legit sb contender imo. I have faith he’ll find us one. Just don’t know what avenue will be taken to get there.

The Lions are already a legit Super Bowl contender.
They were a contender last year without any dependable good edges for most of the year.
Now they have Hutch back.
The Eagles lost 3 of their top 5 in sacks including a starting edge and 5t.
A better edge could move the Lions to favorite, but they are definitely a legit contender.

They were contenders till almost every starting def a player got hurt. My concerns still are is Hutchinson going to be the same player and McNeil being out for awhile.
Yes sorry I agree. If healthy the Lions are legit contenders. Was just trying to say that with that edge in place I would expect a championship berth. Holmes has stacked this roster. Just feels incomplete on the other side of hutch. Davenport could be a nice rotational guy to ease the stress on his body. Would love a real flamethrower. Maybe in the draft?
