should get guns that shoot rubber balls for the rabbits, hurts like hell, they’ll think twice before raiding your garden again… go Rambo on those litte bunny bastards.
There has been a factory on the other side of my back fence for 60 years (although it’s in the process of being torn down).
I tried when I first got here. Nothing wants to grow.
My neighbor put in a bunch of raised beds. His stuff is doing good.
Maybe next year.

I’ve had mixed results in my first garden with the new house. The tomato plants and zucchini look great. The peppers got off to a slow start but have started to pick up the production. My big letdown has been with the cucumbers which started vining out nicely but haven’t grown much over the last month. The stupid watermelon vine my daughter insisted on has done a great job of taking up maximum garden space while producing jack shit.
I should have plenty of tomatoes to can in the Fall, and zucchini to enjoy over the rest of the summer. Maybe next year I’ll mix in some cucumber bushes to see if they do better than the vines. And if the watermelon plant contributes nothing beyond taking up enough space for a couple more tomato plants then it won’t get planted again next year.
I gave up trying to grow watermelon and cantaloupes. They need a steady supply of water. My summer is usually 3 weeks of drought followed by a torrential downpour. Ideally, they would have a drip irrigation system on a timer. I try to avoid stuff that requires too much maintenance. Good luck.
