1 handed catches are rare… because guys typically have time to adjust and get both hands on the ball.

My point… is that a 1 handed catch… particularly on a touch pass… is NOT that difficult. It just isn’t.
I say this from my own experience.
I am short… played RB… but have hands about the same size as Jared Goff (9.5 inches).

Again… the “media” guys have to sell something to keep their job.

So why don’t we see plays like this all the time if they are so routine? One could make the same OBJ argument. He didn’t even have to worry about getting two feet down. Just landed softly in the end zone like he was laid down for a nap.

And the one handed grab was only part of the equation. Having the wherewithal to get 2 feet down was equally as impressive. And it was 3rd and 19 in a close game in the 4th quarter.

I agree, OBJ‘s one hand catch was better. OBJ has made some great catches in his career. I just said that Garrett made a great catch and received more pushback than I thought was imaginable. How anyone could watch that play and not say that was a great catch is beyond me.

Not to put him on the spot, but this is what one of the Den posters said during the in-game chat.

I own it and stick by it. If people want to compare it to other catches, that’s their prerogative. I watch plenty of football and to me, that was the catch of the year (to this point). To say it’s not impressive is something I would strongly disagree with.

I watched it live and was super impressed by it. Here is another good one, but it didn’t count.

But of course everybody knows that THIS is the greatest catch in NFL history!!! Scholars remember it as the spark of a dynasty that bullied the rest of the NFL for over a decade.
