Glover Quin Speaks Out

Sorry for the confusion… My post is in agreement with yours.

Sorry for being a dick. I came in too hot. I am frustrated with this team and the lack of progression. I am also frustrated that we are all so divided. We all want the same thing. Lions to get their head out of their asses and actually win some meaningful football games before we die…is that too much to ask?

I should have been more clear in that post, too…
The video linked in the article is from the summer. (august I believe)
The quotes in the article are the recent interview.

Did you see Quin’s more recent comments live? Where are they now?

Quin has always been straight and a well spoken player who’s perspective I trust.

He’s the epitome of a true professional.

I still think Patricia will be back next year, but I don’t think the results will be any better and there will be a major overhaul after next season.

To be honest, I unplug when the lions are this bad. I delete all sports apps, only watch the game and read stuff on here. It gets too negative. I once in a while will type in detroit lions in to google and check any headline stuff ie: stafford injury etc. When i did that today all the articles on google were about GQ’s comments. It seem appears he was on Pat Mcafee’s show today and that’s where the fresh comments originated. The clip of the show will be posted on youtube later today or tomorrow I am assuming. He also has a podcast The Pat McAfee Show 2.0 and I am assuming the clip will be there tonight or tomorrow on android and itunes.

Quin’s part starts at 30:34

No issues. It would be easy to assume my comments were argumentative. “If you read” could easily be interpreted as though I was saying you hadn’t.

LMAO!
So, what are you trying to say?

Especially after listening to the interview live, and seeing the energy behind Glover’s words. This article is a total fabrication. Misrepresenting a guy. It’d be great, if Brickett got called out for that. Does he normally post stuff like that? I don’t follow the Free Press, anymore.

All Lions games I watch win or lose. Pistons, Tigers, Red Wings, Wolverines, Spartans college football/basketball/hockey I’ll watch the replay game only if they win. Less stress lol

right there with you on this. gq is one of my all time favorites. he was always a great gauge on where the team was b/c he was always fair and told it like it was vs being guarded like most players are. diggs was his protege and i respect him for the same reason. the fact he’s gone is a sign of struggle behind the scenes.

glover in the video was a class act as usual. he gave patricia props without throwing him under the bus but acknowledged the fact the team is struggling and not playing hard.

That is an indictment of the coaching though. When players quit playing hard, that usually means they quit playing for the coach. Many of these guys have everything to gain by playing hard and trying to win. When he said “they may not have enough fight in them…” well that’s the same thing as saying they quit on their coach because it’s not worth it.

It’s chicken or the egg. Do you think BB was a sweetie pie to his players when he won 5 games in NE in his first year? Then he only changed into a task master once he got some hardware?? Methinks no. BB turned over rosters then and he turns them over now and Quinn is bringing that mindset too. A roster full of guys who loved them some Gentleman Jim are going to get a little butt hurt when someone tells them to take an effing lap. I think we are all going to have to endure at least one more season and it may be the 3rd bad one that sweeps the staff. We do indeed hear stories from players here and not here on how much they loved Patricia. But people tend to go with their lenses and want to listen to the opinions of players that back up their own. Where’s LoJack?

There are 2 Bill Belichick’s, as his long time players will tell you. The one he shows the media, and the one they see. My point wasn’t about Belichick’s personality. My point was that you have a ton more leeway to do things how you want if you have the results to go with it. If you wanna be Vince Lombardi…that’s fine. But you better damn well deliver. Because if you don’t (in today’s game where players have options), you aren’t going to last long. Hell, sometimes even the results aren’t enough. As Broncos players will tell you, Josh McDaniels lost the lockerroom while they were undefeated. That’s pretty hard to do.
