Looks like Mahomes was the only one to parlay that start into a SB victory. Peyton was the only other one to make the SB, and they got crushed by Wilson’s Seahawks.

I’m looking at the naysayers of Goff not being elite…. and the fact Goff keeps doing this with OC changes … but Goff can still lead the team to a SB maybe this year

Totally get it, I know what you meant. We all know there are a lot of people waiting in the weeds for the first interception, so they can proclaim the Lions will never win as long as Goff is the QB.
Goff is such an easy guy to root for and seems way easier to dump on. I think that Goff has surpassed Stafford as my favorite Lions QB. I will always remember the Stafford/Browns game and that showed us everything we needed to know about him.
With Goff I find it different, he faces the same criticism that Stafford used to…”everything needs to be perfect”, “he’s terrible against the blitz”, “he can’t win in the cold”…..blah blah blah., but Goff just goes out and quietly balls out and puts up stats that the talking heads drool over when talking about Patty, Josh, Burrow, Lamar…and the list goes on.
I hope the Lions win a SB but not necessarily for us but for Goff so that people actually put some respect on his name….because he deserves it and more importantly he has EARNED it!
The crazy part is we got steamrolled on one of those games, and barely managed to squeeze by two of the weaker teams in the league in the other two.
So that is a hard 0-3 if JG isn’t playing at a Hall of Fame level.
If the defense stays the course, I predict we start losing games badly. Goff can’t stay at this level for a full season … especially with better teams on the horizon.

Goff moved into 25th on the all-time NFL passing yards list last week, jumping ahead of Johnny Unitas. With less than 150 yards this week, he’ll pass Joe Montana.

Now, this is TOTAL D. Their problem is that we have a complete O, we’re not just a pass happy team. Goff doesn’t take many chances because he doesn’t have to, this isn’t all on him. This O was making it while we were pulling names out of a hat trying to find starters for the OL. Guys are stepping up at OC, WR and RB and we get our RT back this week as well. We’re a dangerous team. One of my favorite moments in college sports was when IOWA basketball player was asked by a reporter, live, how he felt about having to play vs JR Reid of North Carolina. W/O hesitation Ed shouted, “You best be asking JR how he feels about playing against ME!!!” . JR was held to 2 rebounds and Ed had 19 as IOWA won at NC. So, you BETTER be asking these teams how they feel about playing US.
