I remember watching NFL on CBS in late 70’s or early 80s with Brent Muskberger hosting with Irv Cross, Phyliss George and Jimmy the Greek.
Greg Gumbel took over for Brent in late 80s or early 90s. Jimmy the Greek been a long time since I thought about him.

Greg Gumbel is always the guy I compare Mike Tirico to. Their announcing styles are very similar. They announce in fast pace, with precision but Tirico has a greater volume in excitement for big plays. Gumbel was awesome and he will be missed!

Phyliss George was a stone cold fox back then.
Used to love hearing about Brent and Jimmy the Greek drinking and getting into fights off camera!
