Normally… I would expect a good player to get a restructure and stick around… but this is a team with not much cap wiggle…
and Jones will turn 29yo in 2023.
Cutting Jones also may hasten the exit of Rodgers…
which actually might be preferred by the front office at this point.
Packers can trade him or benefit from his retirement…
but sure as heck can’t cut him.
.
Could be some interesting RBs on the market this offseason…
The Packers implosion has been years in the making. I thought it would be sudden like the Rams downfall this year, but maybe it will be sweeter as it inexorably proceeds like Sandman slow-lights. It’s a great time to be a vengeful Lions fan.
Jones probably will be gone; Dillion can handle a bigger load. The main attraction will always be deciphering KAaron’s cryptic behaviors. He has evolved from preening A-hole to mystic biatch. Hopefully he dissembles even further, for entertainment purposes only, of course.
Man they would be pretty ■■■■■■ without Jones. 1500 combined yards and 7 TD’s aint easy to replace. He is getting up there in age for a RB. Full rebuild coming soon in GB.
Don’t get too cocky. They have two good young receivers, Dillon, and Love may not be as bad as we think. He has been sitting behind one of the best ever.
Still, I don’t think he’ll be Goffs equal for 2 or 3 years, if ever. Goff is a true Journeyman, now.
Call him “elite”, or not, but, you’ll have respect when you talk about him. Like him, or not.
He’s earned it.
Lesser men would have folded after last year and the first seven games this season.
The numbers say he was “Elite” the last 10 games.
