Haslam & Browns sign another possible sex predator

.

Browns apparently don’t care if men (allegedly) hurt women…

.

because Deshaun Watson, Kareem Hunt… and now Bond….

Don’t forget, Quinshon Judkins is now cleared by law enforcement and can play.

Most teams turn in pregame injury reports. The Browns turn in pregame rap sheets.

I may be off in Left field/ all on my own here , yet the man was ‘cleared’ of sexual assault, and deemed innocent. IMO.

So this kid:

  • Gets sexual assault chargers right before the draft
  • Goes from day 2 prospect to undrafted
  • Denies allegations
  • files defamation suit against accuser
  • grand jury looks at the presented facts and decides to NOT indict or further criminal proceedings
  • kid signs with the Browns to play some football and tries to rebuild his life

Maybe he’s a terrible monster?..or maybe he’s a Duke Lacrosse player?

…with due respect @Phunnypharm …that’s a rough thread title

Again, the guy is free and clear of all charges, meaning he was free to continue his NFL career-or do any damn thing he wants /legally -I don’t see the issue.

The degree to which his family name reflects his recent transgressions and resulting predicament is impressive.

Bond’s defamation case was “dismissed with prejudice”…

.

Didn’t appear to have a settlement from what I found… so….

there’s the other possibility….
.

.

.

The grand jury returned a “no-bill” decision.

Basically… they didn’t feel the legal case was strong enough.

Doesn’t mean he was innocent… or guilty.

.

My issue isn’t with Bond.

It’s the fact that the Browns have routinely added players that carry more “baggage” than the average player…. and certainly don’t seem like the kind of players we’ll see Holmes and Campbell adding to the Lions locker room.

Not to mention…. I might be making an assumption here…

but I would guess Sheila isn’t too fond of writing checks to players that have a “possible” history of hurting women.

KC is probably worse than the Browns when it comes to dudes beating up ladies.

He was not “deemed innocent”.

The grand jury returned “no-bill” decision…
which simply means they didn’t believe a conviction could be made …”beyond reasonable doubt”… based on the circumstances and evidence in that case.

Not innocent… not guilty.

I do agree that he SHOULD have every right to pursue an NFL career… or any other career.

I also stand by the premise that the Browns might be wise to avoid a player who faced those types of charges… given how much of a distraction other players on the roster have been in recent years.

The Browns have ZERO chance of winning that division… and certainly zero chance of making it to the Super Bowl.

Why in the world would they take a chance on a player that could bring more scrutiny from fans and media???

OH I’m sorry , He was cleared .

.

.

No…. he was NOT “cleared”.

.

.

.

.

Charges can still be filed again if more evidence came to light.

He was NOT acquitted…. or found “not guilty” in the court system.

They simply didn’t proceed with prosecution at this time.
There is a difference.

Has the prosecutor refiled?

The standard for a grand jury to indict is pretty darn low. Legally speaking he is simply a guy who somebody said did something. He could get recharged or not. It’s no fair to let it ruin his life seeing as how the system we all trust so much has said there isn’t room for criminal charges.

Does anyone know details of the accusation?

no… the grand jury just returned the “no-bill” decision on Friday.

They met in person after a few months of exchanges online….

and began to have consensual “sexual acts”…

but the accuser stated that he wanted a different “act” and she stated she told him “stop”……

and claimed he proceeded against her wishes.

She also stated she had text messages… with apologies from him… and also an offer of cash.

No official statement was made if those claims are true or false.

.

Again… I am not forming ANY kind of judgement on Bond… considering there are zero facts available to the public. My reason to start this thread was to highlight how a poorly run organization continues to make personnel decisions that create distractions for the team…. even IF the individual in question is truly innocent.

Sounds like a mess that an organization without a history of sex assault guys could be ok with. The browns tho… also depending on the sex act in question… the browns

odd, it says that at the very top… I quote “Isaiah Bond, who was recently CLEARED of sexual assault.”

They didn’t have credible witnesses to put away Marvin Harrison either. But that dude absolutely did that sh*t. The only guy Peyton is afraid of.

yep… the internet “reporter” also reported it with an inaccurate statement.

I READ the story… and realized it was an inaccurate description of the actual facts.

then why was it posted?
