Not trying to be alarmist but IMO everyone should have a safety word with their loved ones to tell that you are actually speaking with or video chatting with them. Anytime something private is asked, especial financially, private records, etc ask for the safe word.
The life like deep fake scams are likely coming very soon. I hope that I’m just being a paranoid alarmist. But I do think it’s worthwhile for folks to have a conversation with their loved ones, especially those that are elderly or simply don’t much follow technological developments.
Correct. Not quite there but I do fear that we’re about to go through the golden age of fraud. That’s why I think it’s important to warn the elderly that don’t follow this stuff.
Yeah. It’s not quite there. But I think we are close to grabbing a video of a person off of Social media and a video model allowing you to perfectly mimic that person’s speech.
The near future is going to be like a Black Mirror episode.
Okay. I was wondering like you know when you see those AI videos and the person’s face changes drastically over the course of the 5 minute video or so. But you are right, its getting scary.
