Is it just me or does it seem like we are even slower this year than past years heading into FA. I am sure there are some we have no desire to re-sign but there are some that are at least needed for depth I would think. We have a lot of holes and seems silly to risk creating more. I am also surprised we have not heard anything about any contract extensions since we probably at least need to do Goff’s contract.

I think what another poster said in a different post is what they are probably holding out on restructuring any contracts until they know what they need. As gar as resigning our players I agree. It seems like we are running late on some of these players. I don’t think they can just let all of them walk.

It seems to me with Brad and the Lions you never know what there doing till it’s actually about to happen. They have always been tight lipped in my opinion

I am actually curious why it is 2 o’clock on Sunday and we haven’t heard anything about renegotiating of contracts of our big three.

Did releasing Decker get us under the CAP?
I thought about this as well….
and I wonder if they are waiting to see which free agents they can reach agreements with tomorrow, and then determine the extent of how much money they want to restructure for this season.

Probably not going to at this point
His release and the eventual simple restructuring of several big contracts will get them under the cap.
The unknown…. is how aggressively they will reduce the cap hits for Goff, ARSB, Sewell, and possibly Alim.
OTC has us roughly 6 million over but Decker will save 11 million. So we should be under by about 5 million. Google says the same but I don’t know what it is basing that on. So I guess no emergency until they start signing FA’s. Just feels so slow this year.
What happens tomorrow could determine how much we hear about the restructures on Tuesday.
They may not want to telegraph the plan to other teams or the agents of UFAs.
