Have you seen where Kirk Cousins ranks?

LOL - nice!
Cousins is good to have been in the league as long as he has.
Still hope he loses every game next year.

Joey can jam.

Even over GB?

Maybe not those 2 games. LOL.

I’ve always had Stafford and Cousins in the same tier of NFL QB’s. I’d say Staffords a better talent but I wouldn’t rate him all that much higher than Cousins.

Kirk Cousins has a ceiling of mediocre NFL starting quarterback.

I don’t mean that as any disrespect. To the contrary, I admire Cousins. He seems like a super nice guy. He’s smart, and he works really hard, which is why he consistently plays at or around that ceiling.

For a bad or middling team, he can stabilize the QB position. For a good team that’s trying to make some noise in the playoffs, you’d better have a really good D and running game, because a Cousins-led passing attack is not going to consistently win games on its own.

He’s leveraged his Trent Dilfer / Shaun Hill-esque skill set into some absurd paydays. And good on him for that. But comparing him to legit top-third NFL quarterbacks is ridiculous. His paychecks justify that comparison, but his talent level does not.

I was just reading about DT Michael Pierce having ankle injury, which appears to be relatively minor.

The same article mentions how the Vikings signed Dalvin Tomlinson, Sheldon Richardson, Bashaud Breeland, and Patrick Peterson. They drafted DEs Patrick Jones (Pitt) and Janarius Robinson (FSU).

If Danielle Hunter comes back and plays like his normal self… that defense could be really good.

Could make for another tough game for the Rams and their brutal schedule… and the Lions schedule is already pretty rough as well.

I think the Vikes and Zimmer are exactly the right situation for Cousins. Strong defense and running game, not asking the passing O to go out and win games as a core strategy. Cousins is fully capable of holding up his end of the bargain in that situation.

While I personally wouldn’t have signed Cousins to that contract, I understand the reasoning given the circumstances. And it could still pan out for them.

I hope not, though. While I hate the Vikings less than the Packers and Bears, that’s like saying something doesn’t smell as bad as raw sewage or a pile of dead bodies.

I think most would agree that Cousins is a solid QB, that executes plays very well, and looks great at times when he is getting pre-snap reads.
He doesn’t scramble and pull plays out of his ass like the top 6-8 QB’s. That his limitation.

He went into New Orleans and took down a very good Saints team in the playoffs, when Brees was still playing well. Something Stafford couldn’t do. Nobody can take that away from him.

Stafford never played well thunder b? - you mean like…

A. When he had the most career game-winning drives (34)?
B. When he became the fastest QB ever to reach 40,000 yards -beating Matt Ryan’s record?
C. When Matt Stafford had beat Dan Marino in passing yards ?
D. It was Stafford who became the very first player in NFL history to complete 2,300 passes in his first 100- games of his career.
E. Matt Stafford is ONE of 5 NFL players to reach a 5,000 yard -passing season. 5,038 yards in 2011.
F. Left the Lions with 3,898 career completions…the most in the history of the team .
G. Or maybe it was when he had the most career yards per game 273.4
H. Stafford beat Fran Tarkenton’s record of career TD passes at Lambeau Field with a 14th TD pass.
I. Once Matt stood in a Pro Bowl for Peyton Manning, and became Pro Bowl Offensive MVP in 2015.
J. Sept 29th 2013 , Stafford completed 22 of 35 passes , he got 14,069 yards through (49) games which beat Kurt Warner’s record of 13,864—best 50- game start to a career.

K. Dec 11th 2016, Stafford beat Peyton Manning’s record for most 4th quarter comebacks in a SEASON with 8. 25 of such victories ( Most in The NFL since Stafford’s Debut in 2009.

J. 200th TD pass vs The Packers- reaching his 3,000th career completions in 125 career games, a MILESTONE in NFL HISTORY.
