We would lose both coordinators in this scenario. This was before Carrol said that he wants to coach the Bears.
If anything it would be a great experiment in coaching vs culture.
Kingsbury to Dallass is laughable. He was a train wreck in Arizona. They’d be better off keeping McCarthy.
Agree. I thought the predictions made sense until they mentioned Kingsbury. Strangely, it looks like McCarthy is keeping his job. I don’t think Kingsbury will coach at the NFL level again.
Too early predictions
NYJ - AG
LVR - Vrabel
NYG - Minter
DAL - Flores
CHI - Moore/Monken
JAX - Mccarthy
NO - Brady
I know Ben said Chicago was intriguing. He also talked about Caleb’s fastball. So perhaps he thinks he can light the world on fire with Caleb. I see this as a red flag personally. Watching Dan and Brad you see leaders that look deep into the personalities of the players they draft. It is not just about raw talent. Maybe Caleb has it but in watching him in the huddle, on the sidelines and in interviews I just don’t see the kind of player that Dan and Brad would bring in. I would hope Ben has watched that carefully as well. If he takes over a team and it has a QB with a personality that won’t adapt to Ben’s style he could have problems. It seems like all the football analyst think it is a good fit. I personally think he could become another coach in the graveyard if he goes there.
I like most of your predictions. Here would be mine.
NYJ - AG - I agree, this fit makes obvious sense. All depends on if AG believes he can work with the front office
LVR - Vrabel - I agree, this makes a ton of sense. Vrabel said he preferred the New England organizational model, and now Tom Brady is there as a partial owner.
NYG - I really have no idea here. NY is in a big mess right now. They will get a younger coach that can help grow with the team. They are going to look for a Dan Campbell type.
DAL - I think McCarthy stays. I absolutely can see Flores going here. He runs a pressure defense system which Jerruh loves. Jerruh is tired of the Cowboys being passed up for attention and wants to bring some sizzle back. My initial thought here was that Jerruh would go after Deion, and try to draft Shaduer or Shiloh. Yes, they would then try to dump Dak. I am not saying it’s smart, I’m saying it’s Jerruh. However, if there is one thing Jerruh has become known for, it’s doing the opposite of what people tell him to do. Jerruh loves throwing up the middle finger and reminding everyone HE is the boss. Everyone was saying Mike McCarthy needed to be fired, and Jerruh has already dropped comments that the team is playing for McCarthy, and I think he wants to stick it to everyone who said Fire McCarthy and he ends up staying.
CHI - Joe Brady. I think Chicago throws a bag at Ben Johnson, but he pushes it back. I then think Chicago throws a big bag at the coach who worked with Josh Allen
JAX - Ben Johnson, if he leaves. Ben has said he wants to work with a QB similar to Jared Goff. Trevor fits the play style, and fits the reclamation project work.
NO - Same as the Giants. They need someone who can get them through the epic cap hell hit that is coming and build a team with nothing but younger draft players. Yes, they can keep kicking the can, but it’s only going to get worse. At some point, they have to get rid of the cap hell.
I love them… And I want him to stay… But I think AG will be a better head coach.
I wish Ben all of the professional fortune in the world… We’ll see what he can do We know he will have one hell of an offensive coordinator, himself
We have the same thinking here… I picked Monken and Moore bc of their success with players similar to Caleb
I agree that if Ben takes a HC job, it’ll be Jacksonville, but I don’t think he will
So, no projections for Glenn to New Orleans? He has past ties there, team will need to be rebuilt completely due to cap hell coming.
DC and BH did the same in Detroit as far as tearing it down and rebuilding. Now, need to find AG his Brad Holmes.
What if NO comes for Brad Holmes himself??
I doubt Brad is going anywhere but I could see someone reaching out for Ray Agnew and hoping for the second coming of Brad.
NYJ - Joe Brady
LVR - Brian Flores
NYG - Jesse Minter
DAL - Pete Carroll
CHI - Bobby Slowik
JAX - Ben Johnson
NO - Aaron Glenn
Complete spitball random thoughts
I wouldn’t be sad to see Flores leave MN, probably same thought other NFC North fans have about Ben J leaving Detroit.
I think AG would take the Dallas job, first. Going home to family and friends of his youth.
Robert Saleh brought in to replace AG?
Back to SF me thinks
I think Vrabel ends up with the Jets. AG to the Saints. Johnson doesn’t leave. I also think at this point AG will be a better HC than Johnson……Ben needs more time with Dan……haha!
JAX is really the only one I can see as a fit for Ben. First off it’s miles away from the NFC. I am purely guessing Ben would rather have an AFC job. The QB has yet to become the QB, but he’s not garbage either. And Khan is a non-middler, but a spender.
I don’t think Ben would have too many restrictions on him down there and I believe with the right GM and Khan’s front office, they could build something resembling what Detroit has.
Emphasis on the word “something resembling”. There’s only one Sheila / Chris / Brad / Dan tag-team.
Why not Ray Agnew who could be viewed as Brad Holmes without the PR skills?
