People talking about upcoming trips, so I figured might as well
Been looking up and researching my ancestry and found out my peeps came over in 1635 (brothers) and were pretty influential here, helping found a town and his brother founded a church that still stands. Wife is excited, we’ve never been that far east before. I wouldn’t mind heading over to england to see where my surname originated but that’s an expensive trip. But I was able to track us back to the 1050s, frenchmen who had come to england, given knight’s fees and responsible for castle guards. Pretty neat!
so it was a fun trip over there. cloudy the whole time but no rain so that was nice.
we showed up at the towns history museum when we got into town about 15 minutes before the museum closed. Lady walked up and asked if we wanted a tour and I explained what we were doing there and told her my last name and she got SUPER excited and immediately went and called the town historian and set up for us to get with him at their academy the next day which was FULL of great info including the receipt of the fam buying the land from the indians. Went to the graveyards, harvard, got a lobster roll on in cape cod and then stopped at the canadian side of niagra falls which was incredible. Kind of takes your breath away how large and powerful those falls are.
