Hello fellow Den Brothers.
I’m a relative newbie, discovered 247 sports about a year ago so only some of you might know me (I’m the “other” New York Lion fan).
Anyway, it looks like 247 bit the big one for good so I was searching the net for a new, and more importantly, active Lions forum and to my delight found this place with a lot of familiar faces. The format will take some getting used to but it’s good to be here to talk (complain) about our pitiful Lions with you fine folks.

I’m not sure, particularly since some guys changed handles. FarmerTed is signed up but I haven’t really seen him post. Foxmulder, Jigga, lionsfanstuckincheeseland and Hazer? MTLion87 said he’s not going to come over, but there is an mtlionfan20.

I think that is a great idea. I’ve been around the other site since around September of 2003 I believe and remember those honored them. Became more of a lurker over the last decade due to personal and wife’s health reasons and be honest the 247 site became almost exclusively a I’m right and you’re wrong no I’m right and you’re wrong host. So I was thrilled to find this site in hopes that the insight and banter would be much better. If Nate is able to do this I believe that others should also be put up. For example Atticus speaks.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. spike804 for example was a truly institutional member of this forum, and when he passed (probably 10+ years ago now) we honored him with his tagline, “Nothing since 1957 … but we’re working on it.” When the site was making zero money, and I was a struggling kid going through a divorce, he would send checks every couple of months with a letter. Meant a ton then, and still does today. I’ll see what we can figure out. ~

We added the Spike tag to the banner around 2004 or 2005. I remember because I won “poster of the year” and Nate sent me a Lions baseball cap and tickets to the Lions vs Browns preseason game. Kevin Jones was on the team and it was either his 1st or 2nd year. The Spike tag and the award were linked together.

Damn I miss Atticus Speaks. He was a lawyer and dabbled in statistics. He was quite adept at breaking down a Lions game. pOD what just happened slightly reminds me of that.
It’s good to be home. The Reddit sub for the Lions is just memes and homerism. No realistic view. Iggy and 247 was the opposite, kind of like the new Top Gear, they just tried too hard.
