That’s hilarious! Zay is a very good WR, but man I feel I can easily name 15+ better. This one comes close to the Alec Pierce contract for me.
Yeah I saw that and did a double take. Then again Doyle is supposed to be a smart guy, and I think Flowers is actually pretty damn good if he can be weaponized appropriately.
Blowing out the budget for a receiver seems like a waste when their biggest problem is that they can’t keep their franchise QB on the field.
By next year the $58 annually or whatever it is for St. and Jamo is going to look like a fairy tale. Assuming good health. ![]()
He is but he’s in between the 20s good which is a big problem for me at that pay grade.
I’m still trying to wrap my mind around WR now being the 3rd highest paid position in the NFL
I think he can have a Tank Dell-like impact in the red zone, it’s just the Ravens offense has always been centered around the things Lamar and now Henry can do. There’s been no reason to ask for that sort of usage out of him, so they haven’t. But the absence of evidence, etc…
Agreed, and while it’s not easy we have to remember to think of this in the context of the new salary cap. Really it should be about what percentage of the cap they take up at signing.
I don’t think Zay is wired like Tank. I think Zay is a bit soft if I’m being honest.
on a GOOD day he might get 8 touches right? maybe some blocking done?
contracts are silly.
I yelled out the same to a co-worker when I saw the Zay contract. I know the cap inflation aspect and he’s their #1 but the Jamo contract is a freaking steal in comparison and obviously the ARSB contract is aging beautifully as we all knew it would.
I suppose I could see that. Probably more in that Brandin Cooks vein, but then again I really haven’t watched enough of him to know since he’s been in the league.
Are you sure that you’re just not defending your draft take honor? ![]()
This contract means that no more defending is necessary ![]()
Especially when there are “generational talents” seemingly in every other draft. To me receivers are the easiest position to find talent.
Zay Flowers based on almost any rankings is just outside the top 10.
Yea a tad rich for that.
What a BARGIN tho.
26,27,28 the Detroit Lions have Saint and Jamo for ~$40m TOTAL per year.
With ~$32 in dead void in 2029.
Include last year
Basically 4 years $175m for Jamo AND Saint.
I’m Still wondering how they determine Fox’s salary. There’s punters…then there is OUR “Punter”.
Contracts are getting out of hand. Hes good but not a top 10 wr in leauge
Dratniks really should track and post their AAVs.
