I was one of em. I figured we would make it close at the end but fall short. While i definitely regret not staying up for the whole game, I saved my heart from an entire half of nailbiting football. Watched the rest this morning before work, cant say enough good things about this team…itll be the last time I turn in early!
The only time i turned off a lions game past two seasons was Baltimore last year. This game was getting there pretty fast, luckily they got FGs instead of TDs
I don’t blame anyone who did turn the game off and go to bed. It wasn’t looking good and if you didn’t have today off, then yeah…that’s late to stay up if you have to get up in the morning.
That said, I cannot remember the last time I turned a game off or stopped watching because they were playing bad. If I can take in every moment of an 0-16 season, not really sure there’s anything that could force me to do it. Especially now.
Okay, so I was late to the party So by the time I got sat down it was already 10-0. I watched most of the second quarter, but then when it was like 23-10 I just turned it off for awhile. It was weird. I wasn’t worried completely, but I just watched something else for a spell intending to comeback to it. I wasn’t sure they were going to win, but I wasn’t panicked. Or angry. This team is built different.
I flipped it back on right around the end of the third. And sure enough they buckled down and got the W. Its the kind of win that good teams get. The kind of game historically they are always on the other side of.
Not me, I always believed in this team. I’m not going to say that I thought they’d win down 23-7 at halftime but I knew that they would come out in the second half with pride and make it a game at the very least. They’ve more than earned that faith from the fans.
Guilty. Went to bed at halftime. Woke up around 12:15 pm
to check the final score, expecting to see a loss. Was really surprised that the Texans didn’t score in the 2d half.
Up til 130. Couldnt settle in, spent the day putting down beers w my buds, then Yellowstone w the game on my phone app (Fanatics sportsbook fyi, 2nd game I watced on it this week) and then just too amped to sleep.
I crashed just before the two minute warning in the first half which isn’t the first time.
I knew the game thread would take a turn, it had, didn’t feel like participating.
May have had a few high gravity adult beverages, so tired.
Got up at 5am and watched the game in peace and quiet…lol
I didn’t have a good feeling, who would, but, I hadn’t given up.
Way Goff has been playing not shocked there was a bad game by him, he was due even the greats have them.
I watched the whole thing. Mostly because I love football and the Lions.
To be fair my thought was to watch the 3rd Q or so and see if they could make it interesting. I had assumed that Houston had just played about as well as they can (and still 3 - FG instead of TDs) and was assuming both teams would come back to their “normal”. I was banking on a loss because you have to lose some games to finish 13-4. And I think everyone would have signed up for 13-4 at the beginning of the season. But again we fans live week to week also so any loss feels like the end of the world.
Anyway, watch and assuming a loss meant that I was not stress at all. Was just enjoying the game. After Goffs 5th INT I was kind of pissed. Only in the fact that he was clearly pressing in the 2nd half instead of trusting the process and his team. I do not care what lip service he gave after the game the INT to Jamo was way out of character and the one to LaPorta was a bad pass thrown too hard or off target choose your poison.
In the 4th Goff finally stopped trying so hard and let the game come to him better. The Lions also found some magic on the sweeps and the offense finally could move the ball some.
Houston is not battle tested and lacked that certain look. The Lions are clearly almost there. Goff’s INTs in the 2nd half we way more concerning than the ones in the 1st half. Both were bad passes and the one to Jamo was a questionable decision. If he throws LaPorta’s more on the body or lower that is a TD and not an INT. So hopefully that game put that final polish on Goff so that he will now be 100% locked in.
The defense is just looking better and better. BB is an absolute game changer. TA needs to chill out and trust himself more. Let it all slowdown. The long PI was so dumb when if he had just looked back he likely gets a pick but for sure no PI. So he still has a ways to go.
Never seen a single full episode, but I’ve seen youtube clips from episodes of varying lengths. Looks like a great TV show. That Beth may be the best character since JR Ewing.
