I for one don’t think it’s a very responsible idea to go into the season counting on Iffy to play like he did at the end of last season for 17 games. He was on an absolute tear, and he hasn’t been able to stay healthy throughout his career.
It just isn’t worth investing money in a guy at safety. I agree that they need to sign a reliable starter at safety yet. Thankfully the safety market is flooded and we could probably grab a solid veteran for cheap.
Just think of this on a different level. If Davenport stays healthy we don’t even have to have a LB on the field in passing situations. Bring in Houston to bring heat on the QB.
