Off to a better start than Faulk too. Already a much better runner than Faulk ever was. As a receiver it wasn’t until Faulk’s 5th year where he really took off. If Gibbs can get to where Faulk was as a receiver, look out. Pretty exciting stuff.
Last couple of games of the season I thought, wow, this is how I felt watching Barry.

I was excited when the Lions drafted Gibbs… but he’s 5 times the player I thought we were getting. Or at least I thought it would take him a few years to become what he is now, I think him “arriving” this quickly was a surprise to everyone (including the Lions own decision makers). Dude is HIM.

I would have been fine taking him at six oa, too! Although, I bought the Bijon hype and thought he was a little better. I did know Gibbs was a stud, too

His ability to run between the tackles and how violently he runs is what surprised me the most. His explosion is very obvious but he is not some finesse back. He can do it all.

Plus he starts the snap standing upright, flat-footed. Maybe that’s the secret

I have been around this forum for over 15 years, and after a break (a timeout to to keep it real) I chose Jah as my nickname here after watching his highlights. The tape don’t lie. That acceleration and fearless running style just jumped off my computer screen. I’m no draft junkie and appreciate the guys here who are, but even I could see how his game would translate to the NFL from the first time I spent an hour watching his tape. And he’s a great kid to boot. He would go higher than 12 in a redraft, make no mistake.
I liked Bijan better coming out but I never shitted on GIbbs & he has been nothing short of a blessing to this team and this fan base
I’m in no way knocking either player. They’re both really good; but on the NFL level I will just say that Jah has certainly been given more / a better opportunity to shine. Which is neither guys fault nor should it be.
With that said, man Jah is a special talent.
