How would you rank the playoff QB's

I am basing this question on their play this year not previous years.
So, how do you rank the remaining playoff QB’s?
After the top 3, 4-7 was difficult can almost lump together at 4.

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Josh Allen
  3. Patrick Mahomes
  4. Jared Goff
  5. Brock Purdy
  6. Jordan Love
  7. CJ Stroud
  8. Baker Mayfield

Maholmes
Jackson
Allen
Goff
Stroud
Purdy
Love
Mayfield

From GMFB moments ago regarding slow starts of Lamar Jackson and his first qtr stats.
I will add the caveat that LJ has been much better passing this year but.
4 playoff games
comp/att 9/16
Pass yds 75
TD/Int 0-2
Rating 28.9

2018 Wild Card 6-0 chargers
2019 Divisional 7-0 Titans
2020 Wild Card 10-0 Titans
2020 Divisional 3-0

Well done. I trust Goff to make better decisions at the line than Allen. This moves him above Allen to me. I know Allen is a more physically gifted QB, but I questions his smarts. I like where you put Stroud for the same reason that I value Goff. You just get the sense that he knows what he’s doing within their game-plan.

It’s tricky. Love might be the best on that list in the back half of the season. His numbers are ridiculous.

Only one bad game in there. Nobody gonna put him on the list where his play dictates.

Mahomes for comparison. Stats aren’t everything, but you really taking Mahomes based on this year? THIS YEAR??

  1. Jackson - how can you put ANY QB, in or out of the playoffs, above him based on play THIS year? He’s this year’s MVP and his ONLY competition is from a RB.

  2. Purdy - yeah, he might not be quite as good as his numbers, but his numbers are spectacular. Highest regular-season QB rating by 7 pts (113.0). What’s a Purdy gotta do to get some RESPEK put on his name?

  3. Goff - what he lacks in physical gifts relative to some others he more than makes up for in processing skills, mental resilience, and GROSSLY underrated arm talent. Very capable of carrying a team with his decision making and his arm, as he did in the first Bucs clash. If the Lions EVER develop a decent defense…

  4. Stroud - I definitely want to see him do it again before declaring him a true “top-10 QB.” But he was incredible this year.

  5. Mahomes - just not a Mahomes-like year. If we’re really rating based on THIS year’s performance…

  6. Allen - along w/Lamar, has the highest ceiling of ANY QB in the league, but all his mistakes would get more scrutiny and criticism if his D hadn’t bailed him out early and often.

  7. Love - came on very strong. I’m VERY impressed w/him and would rank him several spots higher on the basis of his play over the second half of the year. But taking the season as a whole…

  8. Mayfield - nice comeback story.

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Lamar Jackson
  3. CJ Stroud
  4. Jordan Love
  5. Brock Purdy
  6. Jared Goff
  7. Josh Allen
  8. Baker Mayfield

I go by handsomeness

  1. Goff
  2. Allen

big dropoff

  1. Stroud
  2. Purdy
  3. Love

big dropoff

  1. Mahommes
  2. Mayfield

massive dropoff
8. Lamar

Hard to argue with that list, although 5,6, and 7 are very close today.

If you wanted a QB for the next five years, I’d put Stroud then Love before Goff.

Nailed it!

Close! I take the choke factor into account. I put Goff and Stroud above Allen.

They have shown the ability this season, no doubt about that.

I really believe that 4-7 can be anyone of the guys I had in my list and it’s fair. I struggled with Purdy as I almost put him 7 due to the team he has around him which isn’t fair to him so dumped him at five.

Mahomes
Jackson
Allen
Stroud
Purdy
Goff
Love
Mayfield
