How you guys feeling about RB2

Saylors is averaging 5.9 on ground, or something in that neighborhood.

That’s not much of a drop off.

I’ll tell you what I don’t feel good about. RB5!

They cut Dortch for Small? That’s the stupidest ■■■■■■■ move I’ve ever seen a Lions team make.

We cut Whiteside, and, kept Jabari Small? WTF!

Saylors is always making plays in preseason. He was the leading rusher in the UFL too. I think he deserves some carries. See what he can do running behind the starting oline. If Pacheco is hurt, Saylors would be my choice for 5 to 7 carries to give Gibbs a breather.

Coach has said they are going to lean on Gibbs and that he is gonna play more snaps. We shall see.

Wasnt the FO always good in projection which players get claimed after cuts?

topic: I’m fine with Saylors as RB2, did play well in pre season

Honestly we’ve declined at RB2 but improved our overall depth.

We kept an extra RB due to Pacheco being hurt again but I’m not overly concerned about RB. Here’s why…..

Our run blocking is a strength of our OL. I feel we will have running success no matter who we out back there.

My one concern is our RB pass blocking. Mainly on 3rd down blitz pickups. Pacheco isn’t a bad blocker but the rest of the guys need work. The Lions will likely need to get creative…. I’d like to see us occasionally put a TE back there on obvious short passing downs.

Lions got Scruggs and Rolder in the deal. I think they did okay

This 100%. My concern is not the talent in the RB room. My concern is that we have a lot of young guys, and smaller guys. The Lions need a vet who understands how to identify blitzers, specifically for a Flores type scheme, and has the size to take on a rushing LB.

If we wanted to try out a tight end here, I’d hope we don’t pick Meeks. His blocking may develop over time, but right now… :grimacing:

Technically no… we got Scruggs and the trade up for Moore

But yes we did good in the trade too

AI lied to me. I feel betrayed

But Scruggs alone would have been okay.

I really like Saylors and I think he will be a fine RB#2 if Pacheco can’t go.

I’m pretty disappointed tbh…putting my eggs into the Pacheco/Saylors basket has me worried. I really want someone else brought in.

@TouchdownMyPants not that guy!!! :joy:

I think it’s weird. 5 RB’s makes no sense. 3 tops. Gibbs is going to be in every down. The entire offense will be Gibbs. When will those guys play? Better to add more WR’s and maybe another TE.

Im not confident

We went from rb1a, rb1b to rb1 and rb2.
No drop off to drop off.
At least that’s how it feels. I think we’ve been spoiled.

You think he falls off a cliff? I don’t really think he was all that different of a player last year. Our rushing success rate just really suffered.

I actually think you could make the argument that Gibbs actually underperformed his baseline more that Monty did.
