How you guys feeling about RB2

Question, who was the #2 RB for Barry from 1990 -1998?
#2-Who was Emits back up RB?
#3- Who was Faulks back up?
I can continue with numerous teams with good/great RBs that we have no idea who the #2 was, because it does not matter.

Guys sit out today for things that the players you referenced would laugh at. It’s not the same game. Injuries are almost not only if they happen, but when.

This may be because he actually had a full offseason. When the Lions signed him last year, he was coming off a full 10 game season in the UFL… Stands to reason he could’ve been a bit gassed jumping into the NFL a few weeks after the UFL season ended

Could be. Does he look quicker to your eye as well?

He seems to be hitting the hole faster, what really surprises me is his power… I was shocked to see how light he was vs his playing style

I’d love to have Damien Martinez as a thumper but the problem with him is that is really all he has to offer.

I’ll take any add at this point. We didn’t even add one for the practice squad smh…

Antonio Gibson sticks out to me… Adds some return ability as well

That could work. I’d have to look at the full list of FA RBs. I do hope we add a mid round RB this next draft cycle.

Provided he’s recovered from the ACL injury last October :man_shrugging: I also would like a 3rd/4th round RB. I was pounding the table for Kaytron Allen, who ended up going in the 6th.

This is where I’m coming from, too. I believe this is where we are. Not just trying to replace Monty, but, Kailf, as well.

Not knocking Brad, at all. There are financial realities that have to be dealt with as a NFL GM. This is a result of making hard choices.

I don’t agree, that Kareem Hunt is the answer. I actually think Saylors is that guy. I could definitely be wrong.

Pacheco is not that guy, though. He was worth a look.

Both Pacheco and Hunt outweigh Saylors by 20lbs. I definitely think Saylors is a better running back than both of them in terms of getting yardage. However, I think the Lions do have a problem in that we don’t have a good blocking back and short yardage specialist. I prefer a vet here because I think you need someone experienced who knows how to identify and pick up blitzers. That one or two extra seconds is massive for Goff to get a pass out on 3rd and long and keep a drive alive, vs throwing it away and settling for 3 or punting.

If I had to make my choice between Hunt and Pacheco, it’s Hunt. No one available I know of is replacing David Montgomery, but I think a guy like Hunt would replace the Jamaal Williams role. Swift did the yardage work, Williams punched it in or kept drives alive by pushing the pile. Saylors, Smalls and Vaki I don’t see filling that role. Maybe I am wrong on Vaki, he is close to the same size as both Pacheco and Hunt. We will see. I think it’s a problem, but I also think it’s a pretty fixable problem.

Goff is the best in the NFL under pressure, and, that pressure won’t be coming from his blind side.
