Hurricane Milton

I know we have several posters here that reside in Florida. I hope you all are taking the necessary steps needed to deal with this storm.

The thing grew bigger, and faster overnight, than any storm in recorded history. It’s gonna get bad down there.

Yes, thx Bols. We are leaving from PA on Wednesday to go down for the season. Hope something is left. We are on the east coast, so hoping it weakens a little before we get blasted.

Adding insult to injury is the property insurance nightmare down there from the sound of it.

Go find @frm710 in GA and drink some beers.

I was on the beach in Puerto Rico when a Cat 3 hit

Its no fun.

I mean, I did still get to San Juan by driving our rental cars in water up to the windows, and Señor Frogs was still open as the only place in SJ with power…but yeah, Im stupid so…

Ummm. Cat 5 now.

It’s going to be bad either way but there’s a fine line between disaster and just really bad depending on where it tracks. North of Tampa could be disaster, south of there really bad but away from the more populated areas of the coast. It will likely weaken by landfall so the surge will likely be the biggest issue because of all the water built up from when it was at its peak. Either way, it’s a bad situation and will hit a more populated area than Helene hit.

My lady friend is there now visiting and isn’t due to fly out until the 17th. Yikes.

My dad went down there on Sunday to check out his place after Helene and now his flight back to MI was moved from Thursday to tomorrow.

I 75 is a major parking lot.Just North of the turnpike Junction.I’ve already lost an hour and ten minutes.

But if anybody’s in lakelandi do have a ton of beer in my office fridge, if my son-in-law doesn’t drink at all tonight.

I got a cruise on the 19th in Miami. But it looks like it will miss them. I lived in fl for almost 4 years never witnessed a hurricane.

She’s about to get the full Florida experience.

I use it often and have to go back and check everything I’ve written. Sometimes the things that text out make me sound like a blithering idiot… So it’s accurate in that sense.

She’s an expat American and is pretty resourceful from living in here Central America, so she’s pretty solid at living modestly and without creature comforts.

Just concerned for her physical safety. She’s a little thing.

Sounds like somebody I want in the foxhole with me. Would you mind if I gave her a call?

Sure why not, she’s the loyal type. She’ll bring all the crystals and essential oils you’ll need.

So, when the question is asked, “Who’s the U-Boat Captain?”, you get to raise your hand, How cool is that?

Clearwater Beach is one of my favorite places, as is Dunedin and Tarpon Springs north of there.

So if someone would have explained hydrolocked to me before we did that, probably wouldn’t have done it with two rental cars in my name

I think that’s a fish in the lane next to us
