I didn't want Parsons

I think some forget this is very common for many or most DTs.

Suh and Aaron Donald are exceptions to normal rookie production at DT.

Kenny Clark was a 1st round pick in 2016.
He played 32% of Packers snaps.
21 tackles, zero sacks, 1 TFL.

He then had 16.5 sacks as a 3-4 NT over next 3 seasons, along w 23 TFLs and 172 total tackles.

Cam Heyward, Chris Jones, Grady Jarrett, Jonathan Allen, Stephon Tuitt, Quinnen Williams, and Javon Hargrave are more examples of good DTs that didn’t have great rookie seasons.

For me, its always been about QB

I loved Parsons, but once I knew the Lions didn’t prioritize off ball LBs in the new scheme, I knew we weren’t taking him.

I didn’t expect Justin Fields to actually drop that far. Its nuts we passed on him. This is no knoclk on Sewell, who I was admittedly hard on when he couldn’t play RT competently to start the season. Its more about realizing this team is going nowhere without a QB - with either Sewell or Parsons or anybody else. And I was never a Goff fan from the word jump.

The story hasn’t finished being written on this though. I feel like Sewell and Fields will both be good.
